Mar,2017 COMPANY THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1513 MW with commissioning of Tehri & Koteshwar Dam, 50MW Wind Power Project at Patan and 63MW in Dwarka Gujarat to its credit and is bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A' Status. Since the commissioning of its first project viz. Tehri Dam a multipurpose project on the river Bhagirathi in and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in , We are a profit making organization. Tehri Dam project started with the status of a project of 'National Significance' during its planning stage and was successfully commissioned in spite of stringent opposition during its implementation. 8 Environmental Clearance to Khurja STPP (1320MW) Jan-Mar,2017 THDCIL s Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (KSTPP) of 1320MW has been accorded Environmental Clearance by Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India on THDCIL is implementing KSTPP (1320MW=660X02) near Bulandshar of Uttar Pradesh with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 9,747.5 Crore. This Power Project will help in meeting much needed power demand in Northern India. 8

15 TALKING POWER On THDCIL successfully commissioned its 2nd 63 MW wind power project in Dwarka, Gujarat. To know more about this venture of THDCIL lets tune in conversation with Sh. U.C. Kannaujia, General Manager(Strategic Planning)... Question- Establish the Significance of this Wind Power Project for THDCIL? Response- THDCIL successfully commissioned its 2nd wind power project of 63 MW in Dwarka, Gujarat on This Wind Power project is of 63 MW 2.1 MW = 63 MW), each Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) is of 2.1 MW capacity hybrid model with WTG height of 120 metres. It is a landmark achievement for us as our installed generation capacity has now increased to 1513 MW. Question- What are the challenges faced in commissioning of this Project? Response-This has been the toughest project in the history Sh. U.C. Kannuajia, GM(SP) of THDCIL and was successfully commissioned under the visionary leadership of Sh. D. V. Singh, CMD. Team which implemented this project in record 04 months time with me consisted of Sh. Manoj Sardana, DGM-EIC, Sh. Anand Singh, Manager & Sh. Manish Bokolia, Sr. Engineer. They all worked very hard to achieve feat. Project was awarded to M/s Suzlon Energy Limited on with scheduled commissioning period of 4 months was actually commissioned in a record period of 3 months after obtaining Developer Permission & Transfer Permission from Govt. of Gujarat in December

16 Question- Any unique feature of this Project. Response-By early commissioning of this project on , THDC additionally benefitted, as THDCIL has become entitled to receive Generation Based Incentive (GBI) of Rs. 63 Cr. from GoI. Had the project not been commissioned by , THDC would not have become entitled to receive the incentive of GoI in the form of GBI, as the GBI policy of MNRE, GoI was expiring on Another unique feature of this project is the height of the Wind Turbine Generator, which is 120 metre and it is a hybrid tower. With commissioning of this project, the Renewable Energy Portfolio of THDCIL has expanded to 113 MW with considerable presence in Gujarat with 02 commissioned Wind Power Projects of 50 MW at Patan & 63 MW at Dwarka. Response-Strategic Planning act as a think tank for framing Vision, Mission & objectives through a systematic thought process keeping in view Global Scenario. We also look after constant outreach with stakeholders such as MOP, CEA, CWC, MoEF, NITI Aayog etc. and also coordinate with projects for handling legal matters in Hon ble Supreme Court and NGT.
