22 The Raelian movement On December 13th 1973, Rael, then a journalist at a sports car magazine, encountered extraterrestrials named Elohim at the Puy de Lassolas volcano near Clermont-Ferrand in France. The Elohim gave Rael The book which tells the Truth, a message about the origin of human life, its present and future, and then asked him to spread this message all over the world and build an embassy where the Elohim could return to Earth officially and meet with us. Two years later, on October 7th 1975, Rael met the Elohim again, and was invited to their planet of eternals. He experienced their amazing and overwhelming year advanced science and technology. At the end of 1975, Rael founded the International Raelian movement (IRM) in Geneva, Switzerland, in order to build the embassy which was requested by the Elohim.
