KC Insurance Agent Message: Retirement income you can t outlive People are living longer today than in any other time in history. While this is certainly a good problem to have, it creates a new worry for those facing retirement: what if I outlive my savings? How does a retirement income that you cannot outlive sound to you? This sounds pretty good to most members and this can be true if you open a Knights of Columbus annuity, which is designed to provide guaranteed long-term security. As a knight, you can open a retirement annuity for as little as $300. Consistent and disciplined savings placed into this annuity over time can guarantee you an income at retirement that you cannot outlive. Couple that guarantee with the fact that no one has ever lost money put in a Knights of Columbus annuity (remember, absolute safety of principal) and you will have peace of mind. Don t forget contributing money an annuity will allow you to save some money on your income tax return. And our annuities offer a very competitive interest rate, consistent with our primary goal of absolute safety of principal. These benefits are similar to those of an IRA or similar product, but ours is backed by the strength and financial stability of the Knights of Columbus. At your convenience, I will happily to meet with you to explain in detail the benefits of selecting our annuity, along with the benefits of our top-rated life insurance and long term care insurance plans. As you consider options as you proceed toward retirement, think about one thing guaranteed to help you and open a Knights of Columbus annuity. Our council has purchased an adult size wheelchair that is available for temporary use by members or their adult family members. This can be used if you are in need of mobility while recovering after a procedure. Contact Mark at 267-1485 for more info Newsletter Editor We are looking for a new editor for our monthly council newsletter. The job entails gathering the various articles and the highlights from the monthly meetings and doing the layout of the newsletter. I will help get you started and guide you during the first few issues. Call me for more info or to offer your talents. Mark G. FS 7057 267-1485 Preparing the council newsletter for mailing. Preparing the newsletter for mailing consists of folding each page in half, placing tape or a seal to the top of each corner to keep the newsletter closed during processing at the mail facility. Then a mailing label is attached to the front page. They are then sorted by zipcode. We do this to 210 newsletters. The ladies at the St. Joseph Apartments have been doing this for years, they are no longer able to do this for us. So, we are looking for a single member, or a family, or another group to do this for us. I have been doing this for the last 2 issues and it takes one person about 2-3 hours for the entire process. I supply the mailing labels and other supplies. Please consider helping with this for our council. Call FS Mark at 267-1485 for more details. Our council is looking at getting more members to receive the newsletter via email, this could reduce the number that we mail down to around 100 copies. If that happens, then we would also need to add a postage stamp to each copy, now it goes bulk mail. Council Program Directors. As you read on the front page of our newsletter, we have directors for the various program catagories that our council participates in during the year. We are looking for a new Community Activities Director. FS Mark can send you more details on what this and the other directors duties are incase you are interested in being involved in one of the other positions. Call GK Jeff at 420-2380 to volunteer. Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. The area Knights of Columbus are taking a bus to Brooklyn Park to help at the annual KC sponsored Special Olympics Bowling state tournament on Nov 11 or 12. This is a great opportunity to support this great program, meet some awesome athletes, and have a wonderful afternoon cheering on the bowlers. If you are interested in helping, call Ron Fink at 250-7732 or Mark Glatzel at 267-1485
