The students rolled out the bread and then cooked it in the host maker. After the bread was done, we pressed out the host. The time was an opportunity for a hands on experience about the Eucharist. We also talked about the value, as a Catholic Church, we place on receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus. Thanks to Kim, Diane and Dixie for sharing this experience with the kids. ~Mike Linnenbrink

Sparking the Spirit Please join us on Wednesday, October 17th at 5:30, McAleer hall in Fort Madison to hear Anthony Dimann. Anthony is a husband and father of a young family and is a Catholic speaker, author and educator. He received his MA in theology and has appeared internationally on Catholic television and radio. His presentation will be: Why God? Why Christian? Why Catholic? The evening is sponsored by the Keokuk Deanery. Please make plans for this very informative night. Strong Catholic Families would like to thank everyone who dropped off coats, hats, gloves or scarfs. All items will be delivered to the Salvation Army. SCF Hayride on Saturday night, Sept. 22nd was enjoyed by all those who attended. It was a beautiful night to be outside appreciating God s creative splendor. Holy Trinity Catholic hosted a dynamic and meaningful school assembly called "Silent Strength". This program was presented to our junior/high school students and to our 4th - 6th graders by Doug Reavis who carries his stories of caring and love. We pray that we are calling and leading our students to acts of mercy and kindness in the classrooms and in our communities. The Holy Trinity Catholic High School Student Council took over the cooking and serving last Friday. They treated our students to a delicious lunch of burgers, hot dogs, chips and watermelon. Thank you to our Student Council for giving their time and service to make a great time for all.

The Diocese has special collections throughout the year that we designate for the second collection. We try to post these in the bulletin and announce them at Mass. All other second collection will go to special projects that St. Mary s may have that weekend (rosaries for the rosary makers, parishioners who may be in need, insurance cost, etc.) we do not post these collections. St. Mary s has placed a lost and found box in the Ossenbrink Center for all those items left in church. Please stop by and look through it if you are missing something. Holy Trinity Schools collects box drops from certain products, there is a box for these in the breezeway. This is the only item they collect at our church. Please do not leave other items in the breezeway as we do not have an outlet for them and they will be discarded. Please call the office if you have questions or concerns and we will try to help!
