We collected $5,304 from St. Bernadette. Seventh and eighth grade students at St. Mary's Academy counted most of the money for us. This is a big job, it takes some time to count and sleeve over $5,000 in coins. We thank these kids and hope we can return the favor. Pat Serey and I delivered the money to Little Way Pregnancy Center and they were thrilled by the news. The Bishop Flaget Council is building quiet a reputation as being a big supporter of the anti abortion groups of Louisville. A big "thank you" goes out to all those who helped make this year's baby bottle campaign a resounding success. Larry Kessler,

PAGE 2 VOLUME 17, ISSUE 12 Grand Knight s Letter Brother Knights, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Two wishes we send to others during this Holiday Season. Christ s Birthday comes and goes each year and we buy gifts, decorate our homes, prepare special meals, then attend mass. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, I feel like we accomplished some Christ like activities in 2017. Our support for Gildas Club which benefits families with cancer is a great way to show why Christ s birth is so important to us. Giving gifts to those most in need and sharing our blessings. As a Knight I am proud and you should be too, of the accomplishments and gifts we have given over the past year and know that we all together made a difference in our community. We have taken the degree of Charity to heart, Unity in our efforts as Brother Knights and Fraternity as we meet and come together for all the things that we do. I hope to see you all at our Christmas Dinner Party December 9th and may you all, Brother Knights continue to bless others and prayers to you and your families for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. VOLUME 17, ISSUE 12 Bishop Flaget Flyer Knights of Columbus Insurance - Our Guarantees Set Us Apart PAGE 3 Knights of Columbus life insurance offers something precious few other financial products can guarantees. As long as you pay your premiums, the policy proceeds will be there for your beneficiaries should something happen to you. That s peace of mind, and that s what we offer with every product in our portfolio. We guarantee the cash value in your permanent life policies will be there. We guarantee the rates on your term insurance. We guarantee the rate and your principal in our retirement annuities. On top of those product guarantees, I guarantee that I will offer professional, high-quality service that you would expect from our organization. Our Order is among the highest rated life insurers in North America. AM Best has rated the Knights of Columbus A++, Superior for 40 consecutive years. It s a testament to our track record for excellence and security. I would suggest that a principal reason that we were able to achieve those accolades is because we remain steadfastly committed to the vision of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney by providing life insurance by brother Knights for brother Knights. That commitment is an essential core value of the Knights of Columbus, and our core values permeate all levels of our organization. We pledge to serve our brother Knights, and their families, according to our Golden Rule: In all my professional relationships, I pledge myself to the following rule of conduct: I shall, in light of all conditions surrounding those I serve, render that service which, under the same circumstances, I would apply to myself. Let s talk soon to discuss how our Knights of Columbus insurance can bring that peace of mind to you and your family. Dwight Frank, Field Agent Knights of Columbus 502-802-8490 Dwight.Frank@kofc.org CHRISTMAS CARDS I am excited to announce that effective Saturday November 25, our council will begin selling Christmas cards printed by The Printery House at Conception Abbey in Conception, MO. Conception Abbey, also known as the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is a monastery of the Swiss-American Congregation of the Benedictine Confederation. The monastery, founded by the Swiss Engelberg Abbey in 1873 in northwest Missouri's Nodaway County, was raised to a conventual priory in 1876 and elevated to an abbey in 1881. As of this year the community consists of sixty-five monks who celebrate the Eucharist and Liturgy of the Hours daily and who staff and administer Conception Seminary College, the Printery House, and the Abbey Guest Center. Monks also serve as parish priests and hospital chaplains in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kansas City- Saint Joseph and other dioceses. Selling Christmas cards will continue to support seminarians within our parishes and archdiocese, while also helping our brothers in Christ in Conception MO. I believe our brother Ed Miller, who led the effort on our Christmas cards sales for years, is looking down from heaven and happy to know this. SK John Sutton, Council Advocate
