BENEDICTION POSTLUDE Hymn to Joy Beethoven JOHN 20:19-22 (NIV) On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. CHIMES Steal Away Traditional Carillon Handbell Choir PRELUDE Thine is the Glory Handel BRINGING IN THE LIGHT WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP L: We gather in the name of the risen Lord, P: Christ is risen! Alleluia! L: We gather to share the celebration of our unity. P: Christ is risen! Alleluia! L: We gather to proclaim the good news! P: Christ is risen! Alleluia! HYMN Worship Christ, the Risen King No. 361 (Verses 1, 2, & 3) PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison) God of the resurrection, it is an overwhelming and all-encompassing love from you and for you that binds us together. Forgive us when we focus on those issues or ideas that are divisive rather than the ways in which you call us to love and peace. Help us to focus on you: the God of light, the God of creation, and the God of relationship. May resurrection be our focus this new day. 4

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. We are in need of adult sized shawls, approximately 18 to 20 inches deep and long enough to wrap around the recipient. We have a good supply of yarn to make the shawls and are looking for more volunteers to make them. If you knit or crochet and would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Nancy Montgomery at prayershawl@clp.church or contact the church office at (623) 935-3411. This is a rewarding ministry and such a blessing knowing the shawls bring comfort and peace from our church family. 9

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WELCOME BOOTH The Welcome Booth in the breezeway outside Souers Hall needs volunteers to help greet people who come to our church for the first time and to say hello to all in the breezeway. No experience is necessary. All you need to do is smile and say Welcome to our church. Volunteers help at the booth from 8:30 9:10 a.m. and then again from 10:15 10:40 a.m. This is an excellent way to meet new people and make many acquaintances. It is a perfect volunteer opportunity for anyone. If you would like to help, please contact Nana Hamlin at welcome@clp.church or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
