Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 7 Announcements for June 10, 2018 Take time to check out what s happening Vacation Bible School Appreciation Pulse Deep Dive Mission Camp Handbells CPR/AED/First Aid training Women s Fellowship Movie Night Ladies Who Lunch Pulse & Ignite Youth Groups Welcome Booth Vacation Bible School Appreciation Luncheon Anyone who helped with Vacation Bible School, please come to an appreciation lunch today in Souers Hall at 11:45 a.m. It will be a delicious meal meant to celebrate a meaningful week. Thank you! MISSION CAMP All students going into 4 th or 5 th grades are invited to participate in Mission Camp, led by Jack & Julie Rataezyk and Nana Hamlin. The camp is from 8:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. beginning Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29. Each morning we will meet, pray, and then travel (by bus when needed) to our daily mission site. We will be serving a different site each day. Upon our return to the church, we will eat lunch together and have a time of fellowship. Permission slips are in the breezeway and on the website. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Kerri. CPR, AED & FIRST AID TRAINING Please sign up in the breezeway if you would like to receive CPR, AED, and First Aid training. This will be taught by LP Health Directions, and all participants will earn their certification upon completion. The cost is $20 and will be Saturday, June 23, from 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. in Souers Hall. Please sign up in the breezeway. Payment is due at the time of the training and payable directly to LP Health Directions. 7

8 MOVIE NIGHT Join us on Friday, June 22, at 6:00 p.m. for movie night. Come enjoy The Greatest Showman on the big screen in Souer s Hall with free hotdogs, popcorn and drinks. Everyone is welcome. Starring Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron, The Greatest Showman is an original musical inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum; telling the story of the man who rose from nothing to create the circus that became a worldwide sensation. The movie is rated PG. PULSE AND IGNITE YOUTH GROUPS Youth groups will meet tonight in Souers Hall. If you are going into 6 th grade, come and join Ignite Youth Group (grades 6 th -8 th ) from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. If you are going into 9 th grade, come and join the Pulse Youth Group (grades 9 th -12 th ) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. We will not meet on Sunday, June 17, in recognition of Father s Day. PULSE DEEP DIVE All 9 th -12 th graders are invited to Pulse Deep Dive at the home of Joe & Carrie Bemis on Monday, June 18, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. There will be dinner, a thought-filled study, discussion, and prayer. Please don t hesitate to call the church office at (623) if you have any questions. HANDBELL LESSONS Lessons for those interested in ringing in our handbell choirs will begin soon. You do not have to read music.you will learn how to do that along with all the techniques used on the handbells. Please sign up in the breezeway between services or contact the church office at (623) , or speak with our Bell Master, Marilyn Chandler, if you would like to be included in the fun and joy of ringing this beautiful instrument. 8

9 CIRCLE 1 will meet at Sugar N Spice on Wednesday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. for a time of fellowship. Sugar N Spice is located at W. Indian School Rd, Goodyear. Please contact Catherine Noah at wcsfcircle1@clp.church if you should have any questions. CIRCLE 3 will meet for lunch on Wednesday, June 27, at 11:30 a.m. in Pebblecreek Toscana s board room. There will be no meeting, just lunch (Dutch treat) and conversation, so that we can get to know one another better. All women are welcome. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WELCOME BOOTH We are in need of volunteers at the Welcome Booth in the breezeway outside Souers Hall to help greet and welcome first time visitors and to say hello to all in the breezeway. No experience is necessary. Volunteers help at the booth from 8:30 9:10 a.m. and then again from 10:15 10:40 a.m. This is an excellent way to meet new people and make many acquaintances.
