ALL THINGS CONSIDERED TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY This June we will celebrate the 20 th anniversary of the founding of our parish community and the 15 th anniversary of the dedication of our worship space. After several months of discussion, we have decided on a number of ways we will observe this special occasion. Let me give you the list: A New Pictorial Directory: Sign up has already begun for our 20 th Anniversary Edition of a new pictorial directory. It is my sincere hope that as many of our parishioners as possible will be in the picture! Special Celebrations: Our party planners are arranging three special celebrations of our anniversary: 1. On Friday, June 28, we will have a special Liturgy followed by an elegant reception to celebrate the eve of our founding and dedication. 2. We will also have a small reception after each of the Liturgies when we celebrate the feast of St. Mary Magdalen on the weekend of July 20\21. 3. The Annual Picnic will be the third celebration. It will include the previous fun & games, but we are planning to expand it to mark this special occasion. Special Gifts: We are also planning on giving ourselves two special gifts. The 20 th anniversary is commemorated with china, so we are planning on buying new china for our community room. (We ve lost a lot since it was first given to us.) We re also planning a new sign for the entrance to give us greater visibility. There are some other ideas under discussion. I will fill you in as the plans are made. A SPECIAL EVENT Next weekend, Corrine Bielicki and Dennis Cruz will be married during the 11 am Liturgy. While the celebration of Marriage during a Sunday Liturgy is not common in this country, it often happens in Hispanic nations. And it seems especially appropriate for Corrine & Dennis. Not only did they meet at church, but most of their relationship has evolved through church-related ministry and activities. Most of all, they value the role the people of this community have had in the development of their relationship. So they want to celebrate it with us! DSA 2013 The Diocesan Services Appeal (DSA) provides funds for almost 100 different services and programs across the 10-county area of the Diocese of Lansing. These services are provided to all 85 parishes and students on three university campuses and several college campuses. There are 6 social service agencies providing counseling and substance abuse services. Plus DSA helps fund the education of future priests, deacons and lay ministers. If you have made a pledge or gift, thank you! If you haven t yet, please join me in making a pledge or gift to DSA 2013! Fr. Dave How- THIS WEEK LITURGIES April 8, Monday Annunciation of the Lord Is 7:10-14, 8:10/Lk 1:26-38 9:00 am +Katie Barazsu April 9, Tuesday Acts 4:32-37/Jn 3:7b-15 9:00 am Communion Service April 10, Wednesday Acts 5:17-26/Jn 3:16-21 7:00 pm +Loretta Armstrong April 11, Thursday, Saint Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Acts 5:27-33/Jn 3:31-36 9:00 am Communion Service April 12, Friday Acts 5:34-42/Jn 6:1-15 9:00 am +Helen Callaghan April 13, Saturday, Acts 6:1-7/Jn 6:16-21 4:30 pm St. Mary Magdalen Parishioners April 14, THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41/Rv 5:11-14/Jn 21:1-19 9 am +Margo Atkinson 11 am +David Groth THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER Acts of the Apostles 5:27-32, 40-41 The Acts of the Apostles tells the story of the early Church during the first 30 years after the resurrection of Jesus. It describes God s Spirit at work, directing, encouraging and supporting the members of the Church. Revelation 5:11-14 The book of Revelation was written around 95 A.D. for Christians living in modern-day Turkey. The Roman Emperor ordered his subjects to worship him as a god. When the Christians resisted, they were persecuted. The book of Revelation was written to give encouragement to them. Today s passage describes a vision of God s people enjoying heavenly life and singing God s praises for their victory. John 21:1-19 It seems that this final section of John s gospel was a later addition. It brings together a number of separate occurrences and interprets them one in light of the other. Reflect: What are you looking for? What great catch are you looking for in your life?

Catholic): OUR NEOPHYTES At the Easter Vigil, we joyfully welcomed through the waters of Baptism: Kelly Borg, Larry Joseph, Anna Phillips, Joey Phillips, Isaak Hancock, Eli Hancock, Beatta Hubert, Shayne Benjamin and Natalie Colella.
