Welcome Care & Share Group Lesson Week of October 8, 2017 What is your favorite leisure activity? Worship Psalm 1. Ask yourself this question: Do I allow my children to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of scorners? This is a hard question for us to look at honestly in our lives. Praise the Lord for His goodness and rejoice in it right now. Honor Him and care for Him. Word Romans 3:21-22. What are some texts in the OT that show God giving righteousness apart from the Law? Why do you think many Jews missed that salvation was by faith, even in the OT? How can you get so caught in activity or a list of what to do that you forget that the just live by faith? Romans 3:23-26. In context, what is the real point of for all have sinned? Why is this point sometimes lost when we lift verse 23 out as just a proof text that all are sinners? How can you better live out the understanding of equality of all men under wrath, but also under potential justification? Romans 3:27-31. What is the Jews response to equality under wrath and equality under justification? Why do you think it is so much a part of our nature to boast about our achievements or, more so, our children s achievements? How can you better live out the law of faith that destroys boasting? Witness How can you better live out God s view that all ethnicities are equal under His condemnation as well as equal under His love?
