Our Congregation in Ministry Mayfest Golf Tournament: The Mayfest Golf Tournament will be Thursday, May 28, at Ironwood Golf Club. Team costs are $300 or $75 per person. We will have hamburgers and hot dogs at noon and begin the tournament around 1:00 p.m. Registration forms are in the Welcome Center. MOC: The Men of the Church will meet for breakfast and devotion on Tuesday June 2, 7:00 a.m. at the Seahorse Restaurant. Cost is $8.50. The June dinner will be Tuesday, June 16, 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be former ECU football player and former New England Patriot Tony Collins. Cost is $9. Presbyterian Women: The Presbyterian Women will meet for lunch at McAlister s on Tuesday, May 26, 12:30 p.m. All women are invited. Age Venturers: All are invited to join the Age Venturers on a tour of Simply Natural Creamery and Jersey Farm on Tuesday, June 2. We will leave from the church at 11:15 a.m. for the noon-2:00 pm tour. Bring your lunch. Drinks and ice cream will be provided. This is our planning meeting for the 2015-2016 year. VBS: Vacation Bible School, Journey Off the Map, is June 14-18, beginning Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. Download the registration form (and medical release for 4th/5th graders) from our web site, www.fpcgreenville.org. We are in need of clean and unlabeled medium jars for kids to make a lantern. We also need group leaders for Monday and Tuesday and craft leaders. We will meet at the church at 6:15 to go to dinner at the mall, followed by Laser tag and we will return to the church by 10:00 p.m. Sunday School: Today is the last day of Sunday School until the fall. Scholarships: Scholarship winners for 2015 were selected by the Presbyterian Women Scholarship Committee in March. The winners were recognized and presented their awards at the PW Spring Gathering/Birthday dinner on May 18, 2015. Scholarships were awarded to Blair Burgwyn, Katie Fisher, Kevin Gavin, Emily Harvey and Copeland Spell, graduating high school seniors, and to Amanda Fisher, MaryCharles Manning, Sarah Morrow, Jennifer Pabst, Austin Phillips, Katie Stanley, Emily Steele, and Caleb Prevatte, college students. The New Hope Presbytery has awarded Blair Burgwyn and Emily Harvey scholarships for 2015. Katie Fisher has been named as an alternate recipient. Congratulations to all these students! Office Closing: The church office will be closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day. HLM: Congratulations to Madge Chamness on receiving the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership at the Spring Gathering on May 18. She was chosen in 2014 but was unable to attend the Fall Gathering. An Honorary Life Membership is conferred upon an individual Presbyterian Woman in recognition of faithful service in an area of the work and life of the church.
