Post 142 Pompano Beach American Legion News Sterling McClellan Post 142 ~ 171 SW 2nd Street ~ Pompano Beach, FL 33060 ~ 954-942-2448 Web Site: www.alpost142.com ~ E-mail: legion@alpost142.com September, 2017 A Message from the commander September is going to be a busy month for Post 142. We have some Post projects kicking off. I would like to thank the DAV Chapter 133 for their commitment to donate a shed to Post 142 allowing more storage for wheel chairs, walkers, and misc. items that are needed to help our most fragile Veterans. We are going to be replacing the Ceiling tiles in the dining room in the next month or so, all which will be donated as well. We are also working on raising donations for a six foot rod iron fence with a key card entry for the Tiki Hut area, better known as the Mar-Tiki Hut..LOL Thanks to the Riders we are also adding 2 new horse shoe pits on the southwest side of the building by the Tiki Hut area. I have also been contacted about starting up a pool league with other fraternal organizations. So we are headed in the right direction once again. Let s continue to stay relevant, and upgrade and update everything we can. Remember, a small donation goes a long way. Let s continue to make Post 142 a Great place for everyone.. Thank You! For God, Country and Family Marty Broderick Post 142 Commander A MESSAGE FROM THE 1st VICE COMMANDER Gary Brietling 1st Vice Commander Improvements to our facilities continue in September. Please read the notices and flyers on our Bulletin boards so that you will be informed on projects and activities. Volunteers are always needed so please give some of your time to help out. Membership drive continues and we must remind you to please pay your dues so that the Post can continue to help veterans; make a special effort to come in to the Post and pay, or mail in your 2018 dues. Thank you!

A MESSAGE FROM THE AUXILIARY PRESIDENT Our new year has started and the 2018 membership cards are here. Please pay your dues on-line, by mail, or simply drop them off at the Post. I am looking forward to a Great year for this Great organization. So let s continue to work hard for our Veterans and our Community. I would like to Thank everyone for the school supplies. The Auxiliary gave out 16 back-packs with school supplies to our children, so that they could start the school year out right. Don t forget Tuesday night Bingo at, and of course, our Bingo Fest is Wednesday, August 30th at 6:30pm. Come and join us for a fun night out. Food will be available for Bingo as well. For God and Country Auxiliary President Gail A. Dupuis Message from The Director; Post 142 Legion Riders I would like to thank all who help & participate in the Post 142 Riders events & meetings. Sundays are a Voluntary Ride Day. All upcoming events will be discussed at meetings. Thank you for your support. Stay safe & live well. For God & Country Russell Yeomans; Director of Post 142 Riders Message from Post 142 SAL/Squadron Commander It s hard to believe we are entering September, but here we are. We are making good progress with our membership. However, we have a long way to go. I am asking all Squadron members who have not paid their 2018 dues, to do so please. We have strict targets to meet for the Department of Florida & we want Post 142 Squadron to not only meet each & every one of those targets, but to lead our district in doing so. Please keep your eye on the Newsletter calendar for upcoming events. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or suggestions that you may have. My contact information is below & I am always available. Let s all continue to contribute all we can to make Post 142 the very best that it can be. If you re full of Patriotism, you re full of Love for your country!!! God Bless the USA Rob McCarten; Squadron Commander njirish11@gmail.com / Mobile #: 646-246-5948

THE POST 142 FAMILY ASTONISHES & AMAZES COMMANDER I WANTED TO TAKE A MINUTE AND THANK THE POST 142 FAMILY for the overwhelming love and support you have shown me throughout my tenure as the post 142 commander. Once again, thank you to my post 142 family for all that you do, and I look forward to working with all of you to make this year even better than the last one. Let s continue to make Post 142 great.
