The Church at Litchfield Park A house of prayer for all people, aspiring to be as inclusive as the love of God 1

WE HAVE GATHERED AS A FAMILY OF FAITH Seventh Sunday after Epiphany February 24, 2019 8:00 a.m. The Church at Litchfield Park, aspiring to be as inclusive as the love of God, welcomes everyone who comes to the doors of this House of Prayer for all People. CHIMES PRELUDE Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow arr. Martin WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS PASTORAL PRAYER LORD S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. MISSIONS MOMENT Jane Holdcroft CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP Praise the Lord, Be Joyful F. Haydn, arr. H. OFFERTORY How Can I Keep From Singing arr. Christopher Ruck Karla Cornell, soloist DOXOLOGY No. 815 Seek Ye First No. 713 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you Allelu, alleluia! BENEDICTION POSTLUDE God Be With You, Till We Meet Again Tomer/Rankin LUKE 6:27-38 (NIV) But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these. 3

Hopson CALL TO WORSHIP L: Come, let us bow down in worship, P: Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; L: For he is our God P: And we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. HYMN O Worship the King No. 104 (Verses 1, 4 & 5) PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison) Lord, you taught us to do to others as we would have others do to us and to love our enemies. Lead us all, friend and enemy alike from prejudice to truth: deliver us all from hatred, cruelty, and revenge. Fill us with your love so that we may be an instrument of your peace and enable us all to stand reconciled before you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. 4

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
