WHY ARE YOU CATHOLIC? Is that a question you are asked by others and maybe even that you ask yourself? Do you have the answers? If not, and even if you think you do, join us in our newest book study on the book Why I Am Catholic (and You Should Be Too) by Brandon Vogt. Brandon is a convert; he converted when he was in college after exploring several Christian faiths. He quotes G.K. Chesterton (also a convert) The difficulty of explaining why I am a Catholic is that there are ten thousand reasons, all amounting to one reason: that Catholicism is true. This study on the the book Why I Am Catholic (And You Should Be Too) by Brandon Vogt will be offered on Monday evenings and Thursday mornings. Monday evening classes will begin Monday, Sept. 10 through Monday Nov. 12 meeting at 7-8:30 p.m. The Thursday morning classes will begin Thursday Sept. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 8 meeting from 10-11:30 a.m. Classes will be held at St. Francis de Sales Parish in the Library, downstairs. All are welcome especially our brothers and sisters from St. Ben s. The cost of the book is $14 on Amazon, if you have a Prime account, and Kindle is $4.49. I will be ordering books for those who don t have Amazon Prime on Monday, Aug 27. If you want me to order them please contact me (Maureen) ASAP and you can pay me when they come in. This is not part of the book study on The Greatest Story Ever Told it is a different book at different times and you can certainly attend both studies For any questions, please call: Maureen Redmer at (262) 249-0424 or (262) 206-5625 or Geri Braun at (262) 249-9590 or 262-744-9592. SHOES NEEDED The Walworth County Food Pantry (Elkhorn) will be hosting a Back To School Event together with Open Arms Clinic on August 25. We will be distributing gently used and new shoes to children who need them. If you would like to donate, please bring shoes to the parish office. THE POWER OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION As He embraces the day with the light of His love, Jesus waits for you to ask Him to shower you with His graces!! Next to the holy sacrifice of the Mass, the greatest graces you may obtain are through time spent with Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration! Do you wish to be transformed? Is there something missing in your life? Then stop by to visit Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist; adoration is offered every Tuesday following morning Mass until Benediction at 7 p.m. Adore Him, love Him, pray in thanksgiving for all the blessings of your life...pray in reparation for your sins and the sins of the world in front of Jesus. Pray for peace throughout the world, the holy souls in Purgatory and all that is in your heart. You will feel His Love! The Holy Eucharist is an incomprehensible gift of God s love which fills us with gratitude and with the desire to make this most wonderful gift, our Lord Jesus Himself, known to all our brothers and sisters. If, as is true, the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the Church s life, the Holy Eucharist is also the source and summit of the Church s mission in the world. (Cardinal Raymond Burke, Divine Love Made Flesh, 178). If you feel called to spend more time with Jesus and be an adorer, please contact Katie Alder at 262-248-9254 or kalder@earthlink.net. Thank you you will cherish this time with Him! IT S TIME TO THINK ABOUT R.C.I.A. The RCIA program will begin here at St. Francis. These classes will benefit anyone who is interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. If you were never baptized, if you were baptized in another denomination or if you were baptized and raised Catholic, but you left the church for some reason and you now would like to r turn, these classes will help you.attending these classes do not obligate you in any way. Any choices you make regarding your faith life are strictly up to you. But if you have been feeling called to explore your faith life, the RCIA will help you to find answers. For more information call Geri Braun at (262) 249-9590 or Lisa Parker at (262) 315-4227.

YOUR FINAL RESTING PLACE Consider purchasing a plot in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Situated one mile east of Lake Geneva, amidst fertile farm land and solemnly blessed, the earthly remains of our faithful departed await the day of Resurrection in the sacred ground of St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. With the passage of time, the weathered tombstones of Adelaid Peters and Patrick Boyle signify the earliest parishioners of Irish and German descent laid to rest in 1846. This parcel of land, this holy ground, inspires our own faith in giving public witness to lives of faith and our belief in the resurrection of the body and eternal life, our belief in the Church Triumphant in Heaven and to the dignity of the human body. This past spring, our working cemetery committee held their first clean-up day, pulling weeds, trimming overgrown shrubs and trees as well as replacing mulch. Leaning historic tombstones have been identified for repair and we look forward to planting trees and road repair. The repairs, beautification and plot sales will be handled by our new Sexton, Pat Vorpagel, of Cemetery Management Services. Our committee s highest priority is to ensure that St. Francis de Sales cemetery remains a beautiful and dignified final resting place befitting our beloved departed. Have you decided on your final resting place? As members of the Roman Catholic Church, church law requires that all internments be in consecrated ground. Consider taking time to visit our historic cemetery and contact the parish office at (262) 248-8524 to discuss plot selections and purchases. Plot pricing and rules and regulations are posted on the SFDS website. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to enhance the beauty of our beloved cemetery. THE SECOND GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD In The Second Greatest Story Ever Told bestselling author Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, reveals St. John Paul II's witness for our time. Building on the prophetic voices of Margaret Mary Alacoque, Thérèse of Lisieux, Maximilian Kolbe, and Faustina Kowalska, The Second Greatest Story Ever Told is more than a historical account of the Great Mercy Pope. This book and DVD series expounds on the profound connection between Divine Mercy and Marian consecration. It serves as an inspiration for all those who desire to bear witness to the mercy of God, focused on Christ and formed by Mary. Now is the time of mercy. Now is the time to make John Paul's story your own. Come Join Us at SFdS! Please order Fr. Gaitley s, The Second Greatest Story Ever Told for this study.
