Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair love, protect our families so that they may always be united and bless the upbringing of our children. Our hope, look upon us with pity, teach us to go continually to Jesus, and if we fall help us to rise again and return to him through the confession of our faults and our sins in the sacrament of penance, which gives peace to the soul. We beg you to grant us a great love of all the holy sacraments, which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth. Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our consciences, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all others true joy and true peace, which come to us from your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns for ever and ever. Or heard about somebody and then met them face-to-face? There's a big difference between knowing about someone versus actually knowing them. This Advent, we want to get to know Jesus, not just know about him. That's what Advent is about preparing to meet him and to know him. Upcoming Calendar: No Class Tuesday, December 11th Sunday, December 16, 2018 - Class at 10am in Church; Mass begins at 11am. Students can be picked up at 11:45am from the Church Tuesday, December 18, 2018 - Class from 6:00pm - 7:00pm AWAITING THE SALVATION OF GOD The world does not seem big enough to contain the jubilation of the first reading. In the Gospel reading, the Roman empire isn t big enough, either. The great powers of Rome are named and made to stand waiting for the arrival of God s salvation. And we find Paul meditating joyfully on what really matters. According to Baruch, the city of Jerusalem is like a person standing on tiptoe looking for God s salvation, which is coming from the east. Those who were led away on foot, heads down, now come back, a proud people. Why, the very way is smoothed out. The path is lined with fragrant, lush trees. It can t get any better than this, can it? Well, yes, it can. For a voice calls out in the desert. Here is the beginning of the salvation of God. Update. We have raised more than $159, 235 thanks to the early commitments from 55 families! Thank you for your enthusiasm, generosity, and prayers. Our To Teach Who Christ Is Team continues to invite more and more families to participate each week. Your gift will ensure a vibrant future for our parish, and Catholic education across Chicago. Thank you to those who have pledged!
