OFFERTORY The Old Rugged Cross arr. Weber DOXOLOGY No. 815 Bind Us Together No. 139 Bind us together, Lord; bind us together with cords that cannot be broken. Bind us together, Lord; bind us together, Lord; bind us together with love. There is only one God, there is only one King, there is only one body; that is why we can sing. BENEDICTION POSTLUDE Postlude in Classical Style Gordon Young MATTHEW 9:9-13 (NIV) As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector s booth. Follow me, he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? On hearing this, Jesus said, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Dan Bird WELCOME, REGISTRATION and ANNOUNCEMENTS WELCOME NEW MEMBERS Robert & Judy Brown Peter Dale Lisa Ducharme John & Shirley Gigliotti James & Judy Murphy Catherine Navarra CALL TO WORSHIP L: Welcome, dear friends, to this house of God where we gather today to worship Jesus Christ. P: We are here, one and all, to join our hearts together in unity and celebrate the mercy that God has for all people equally. L: Let us remember that our equality is based on God s equal love and acceptance for everyone. This includes all people none are excluded or exempt from the reach of God s love and grace. P: As God embraces all people, may we be challenged to move beyond those religious, social, and cultural boundaries that separate us from others. HYMN Holy, Holy, Holy! No. 3 (Verses 1, 2 & 3) 4

CONFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY Prayer of Confession: (In Unison) Dear Lord, as we contemplate the life of Jesus as one who transcended religious boundaries to connect to the marginalized, may we be challenged to live like our Savior. Help us to move beyond the walls of religious activities which merely isolate us from those Christ came to embrace, and drop the shields of judgement we use to protect ourselves from defilement which only deflect your blessings. Help us to love those you love and have compassion for those you long to see embrace your love. L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
