Peace like a River No. 750 I ve got peace like a river, I ve got peace like a river, I ve got peace like a river in my soul; I ve got peace like a river, I ve got peace like a river, I ve got peace like a river in my soul. BENEDICTION POSTLUDE JOHN 21:15-19(NIV) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these? Yes, Lord, he said, you know that I love you. Jesus said, Feed my lambs. Again Jesus said, Simon son of John, do you truly love me? He answered, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. Jesus said, Take care of my sheep. The third time he said to him, Simon son of John, do you love me? Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, Do you love me? He said, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said, Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go. Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, Follow me! CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) **Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals are available for use during traditional services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these. 2

WELCOME, REGISTRATION and ANNOUNCEMENTS PRELUDE BRINGING IN THE LIGHT CALL TO WORSHIP: L: The risen Christ asks us, as he did Simon Peter: Do you love me? P: Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. L: Jesus responded: Feed my sheep. Then he asked again: Do you love me? P: Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. L: Then Jesus said, Follow me! P: Yes, Lord, where you lead us we will follow. Amen. HYMN For the Beauty of the Earth No. 793 CONFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY PRAYER OF CONFESSION: (In Unison) Lord, we have not always been clear about our priorities. We have claimed to be a people of the Bible but have failed to open its pages. Grant us the enthusiasm of Peter, that we may hunger and thirst after righteousness. Grant that we may not only hunger for your Word but share it with those so desperately hungering for your truth. Send us forth with the eagerness of those who have seen the Lord and wish to make his love known to all whom we encounter. Amen. PASTORAL PRAYER 3
