VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE THANK YOU: Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference thanks you for your love, kindness and generosity toward our fellow brothers and sisters through our Giving Tree program this Christmas season. Much joy and happiness was brought to the residents of Greenewood Manor, The Village at the Greene, Heartland of Beavercreek, Hospitality Homes, Beavercreek and Xenia Health and Rehab. A big thank you to the St. Luke parishioners and our SVDP members who helped with the transportation and distribution of the gifts. This year a total of over 300 gifts were delivered. EXPOSITION AND ADORATION There will not be Eucharistic Exposition on Christmas Day, December 25 th, or on New Year s Day, January 1 st, but will begin again every Tuesday starting January 8th. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, in St. Dominic Chapel, begins after the Tuesday 8:30 a.m. Mass and continues until Benediction at 6:45 p.m. We recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:15 p.m., Divine Office evening prayer (Vespers) and evening Divine Mercy Chaplet. prayed at 6:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. Babysitting is available in the nursery from 10:00-11:00 a.m. during the school year. Give yourself the gift of peaceful time in the Real Presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. CHILDREN S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLOW): All children in the parish age 3-9 are invited to participate in Children s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) sessions at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Mass and Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass. CLOW is intended to help children pray better and reflect on God s Word. The children are invited to come forward for a special blessing toward the beginning of Mass and then they walk to St. Dominic Chapel with 2 CLOW leaders. CLOW continues to need 2 VIRTUS trained adults at each session of the 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Mass. In our efforts to ensure the safety of the children who attend, we are asking that 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up for this ministry. If we are unable to have 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up, CLOW will not be offered at that Mass. If you are interested in helping with this beautiful children s ministry please contact Caroline Barhorst at the Jansen Center, 426-1733, x306. VIRTUS Protecting God s Children Sessions on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection: All employees and regular volunteers in the Archdiocese who have contact with children are required to be trained using VIRTUS materials. It has blank pages for every day of the year. Parishioners are invited to write their special prayers of petition in this book. We remember all of these written intentions in our general intercessions at weekend Masses. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR 2019 The Boosters are looking for gently used artificial Christmas trees and decorations Do you have a gently used artificial Christmas tree or Christmas decorations that you no longer use? Why not donate them? The Boosters are looking for gently used artificial Christmas trees and Christmas decorations to restock the Attic Treasures booth for next year s Bazaar. Trees and decorations can be dropped off at Jansen Center and a donation receipt can be provided. Please identify your item as a donation for the Boosters. AROUND THE AREA St. Mary Open House: Come and see beautiful, historic St. Mary Church, corner of Xenia Avenue and Allen Street in Dayton. We are decorated for the holidays, including our 3-story Nativity with over 100 statues. This is an ongoing tradition at St. Mary Church for more than 90 years. Our Open House schedule is: Wednesday December 26 th from 2:00-5:00 p.m., and Thursday and Friday December 27 th -28 th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Catholic-Sponsored DIVORCECARE: A 13-week support group, held on Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:30 p.m. from January 3 rd to March 28 th ; at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike in Centerville.
