The Church at Litchfield Park A house of prayer for all people, aspiring to be as inclusive as the love of God 1

CHIMES PRELUDE O Love, How Deep, How Broad, How High arr. Johnson WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS PASTORAL PRAYER LORD S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP Hear Us, O Lord arr. H. DOXOLOGY No. 815 I Love to Tell the Story No. 444 I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love. I love to tell the story because I know tis true. It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do. I love to tell the Story! Twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love. BENEDICTION POSTLUDE Glorify Thy Name Adkins JOHN 12:20-26 (NIV) Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. Sir, they said, we would like to see Jesus. Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus. Jesus replied, The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE) Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these. 3

WE HAVE GATHERED AS A FAMILY OF FAITH Fifth Sunday in Lent March 18, 2018 9:15 a.m. The Church at Litchfield Park, aspiring to be as inclusive as the love of God, welcomes everyone who comes to the doors of this House of Prayer for all People. CHIMES PRELUDE O Love, How Deep, How Broad, How High arr. Johnson BRINGING IN THE LIGHT WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP Hear Us, O Lord arr. H. Hopson CALL TO WORSHIP L: Each day is a gift from God, P: Each moment provides opportunity to reach out in service to all creation. L: Each day is a reminder of the new covenant: P: Inscribed on our hearts filled with joy and hope. L: Each day we draw closer to God: P: Who has forgotten more than we ever learn; who has forgiven us more Than we ever acknowledge. HYMN In the Cross of Christ I Glory No. 328 (Verses 1, 3 & 4) PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison) God of thundering glory and wondrous love, you lifted up Jesus Christ from the earth to draw all people to your holy name. Like grains of wheat that fall to the dust, teach us to die and so to bear much fruit, giving our lives for the sake of the gospel, following and serving Christ Jesus forever. 4

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us: P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
