Matthew 28:19-20 SIX MONTHS HOPE NEWS I just did a funeral for a lady who was once told by doctors that she had six months to live. Boy, did she ever choose to live. She changed the way she viewed life. She became a better wife and a better co-worker at the office. She became magnetic with her love. She joined the church and invited countless other people to be a part of it. Her perception of life changed totally. Suddenly, going to Walmart became exciting for her because she wanted to engage others with her hope. She didn't live six months. PRAISE GOD Teresa Wilson is cancer free! T hank you to all who have been praying!! MAY We have heard and maybe even said that what really matters is the quality of our days in life not the quantity. We love the thought of this statement, but we rarely believe in viewing life this way. Don't believe me? Then why do we ask about someone's age first when they die? When we hear of a friend passing we quickly get around to asking "How old was he?" or, "How old was she?". Perhaps the reason we go there so quickly is that it's easier to justify in our minds the death of someone more advanced in years. Death seems less tragic when we can say they had a "full life". The concern for one's age is obviously a result of the fact that we tend to measure one's life in years as though that were the sole gauge. We overly value life here. I have learned that the success of human life depends on how it is measured. The Psalmist stated, "Our days may come to seventy years or eighty, if our strength endures." (Psalm 90:10). We learn through the passing of young people, that the Psalmist's truth there is not declaring that we are guaranteed old age. Our days fall under God's hands and compared to heaven, the Psalmist goes on to say that our best days here are filled with trouble and sorrows. I have no death wish, only a life wish. My life wish for myself and for each of you, is that you will not strive to be successful at things that will not matter in your end, but that you will press forward with what does matter. Think about this: 100 years from now, no matter what your income level or social status/standing today, no one will know your name or how you lived unless your pushed for and helped others find the eternal things. Are your days rich with God or filled with castles that will crumble when the tide comes in. The tide will come in and on that day you will give an account. When facing death, no one ever said they wish they had nicer shoes. I will miss my friend. More than her, I will miss the life-change that I saw in her. That is available to us all. Be you, be real, and be relevant with the time you have been given. This is living, Chris Our very own Rh on da Daw son is close to owning her own home thanks to the generosity of many and Habitat for Humanity. Soon, you too can contribute towards making this dream of Rhonda's come true. Be on the look out for work days to be announced in the coming days.

4 HOPE OUTREACH Ser ve Su n day In April, Hope went out into the community leaving little bits of Agape love for unsuspecting folks to find. Baby wipes were left at changing table stations in stores and restaurants, bags of popcorn were left at Red Box locations, bottles of water were left for those returning from a workout at the gym, flowers were left on random cars, laundry detergent and fabric softener was dropped off at local laundry mats and quarters were left for little ones at the gumball/good machines. We also left gifts at the hospital waiting rooms & hotels.
