1 HIGH ACHIEVERS LYNNFIELD WARD GIRLS REACH FOR THE STARS
2 Welcome to HA! Dear High Achievers, We were asked by the bishop to bring the Achievement Day activities more in line with the Scouting program. So drum roll we hereby introduce to you the Lynnfield Ward High Achievers (HA) program! We have developed a plan for this coming year starting May 1, 2012 and ending April 30, 2013 that includes merit-badge-style accomplishments which we will simply be calling Achievements. There are 10 Achievements that can be earned this year by attending Achievement Day (HA) on the first and third Tuesdays of every month from 7:15-8:15 pm. By every month, you will notice this means that we will now be meeting year-round, so gear up for lots of summer fun! You will receive a High Achievers sash similar to those worn by scouts. Each Achievement has a specific pin, patch, button or badge associated with it to be pinned, sewn, or glued on your sash. You can choose from an additional 10 Achievements to work on at home during the weeks we don t meet together. These Achievements are listed in the Over Achievers section. As you complete your Over Achievers activities you will report to one of the High Achievers leaders and we will pass you off. You will then recieve your Over Acheiver badge to add to your sash as well. 1
3 Calendar We will have a sample board of each badge you can earn this year to keep you motivated. At the end of the year there will be a special night to celebrate all of the many Achievements that you have accomplished throughout the year. This is a night for parents and friends to come and celebrate with you, our High Achievers. High Achievers will also be working on finishing their Faith in God goals. For each faith in God goal you reach, you will get a bead to add to your sash. Some Achievements also count towards a Faith in God goal so for these activities you will get a badge AND a bead! As you memorize and pass off the 13 articles of faith you will receive a number-shaped button for your sash. We hope that you will enjoy the coming year and join us for lots of HA fun! If you are unable to attend a particular session please let us know and we can work with you to help you make up what you missed. As this first year goes on I am sure you will have ideas of what you would like to do for next year s Achievements. If you have suggestions or questions about the High Achievers program please contact us. We look forward to working with you this year.
