2 Office of the Moderator Dear Berean District Association Family, Praise and gratitude to our Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus, our Christ and to the Holy Spirit, our teacher and guide. I extend Holy Greetings to our Vice Moderators, Former Moderators, Auxiliary Presidents, Association and Auxiliary Officers, Committee and Department Chairpersons, Pastors, Preachers, Delegates and Christians friends; How wonderful the Lord is! I am extremely excited to convene this 139 th Annual Session again with Dr. L. D. Tate and the Olivet Missionary Baptist Church family. The Olivet church family has continuously shown themselves to be wonderful hosts and their Christian kindness is overwhelmingly appreciated. Please take the time to speak a kind word of appreciation to the wonderful Olivet church family during our time together this week. I am always excited to celebrate and participate in the Annual sessions of our very hardworking Auxiliaries within our Association and I trust that you will attend each session faithfully and with a prayerful participation. I want to pause and give God praise for our Laymen President Bro. Neil Hughes as he gives his tenured address on Monday night of our session. Related, we thank him for his diligent and dedicated service to the Laymen locally, state-wide and nationally. Further, we will be blessed to share in the inaugural session of the Pastor s and Ministers Auxiliary and be blessed to hear the address of Dr. L. D. Tate on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. It is my fervent prayer that we will have a spirit filled 139 th Annual Session as we strive to become a more unified and loving body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ. 11 The Bible I pledge allegiance to the Bible God s Holy Word I will make it a lamp unto my feet And a light unto my path I will hide its word in my heart That I might not sin against God The Christian Flag I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag And to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands One Savior, crucified, risen and Coming again with life and liberty For all who believe. The American Flag I pledge allegiance to the flag Of the United States of America, And to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, under God, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all. Young People s Pledge Realizing that in the Lord Jesus Christ, I live and move and have my being, I promised Him that I would strive to do whatever He would have me to do. I will take the Bible as my guide and will aid my church in its work and worship. I will have grace at each meal in my home and strive to have daily family worship. I will endeavor to be present at the meetings of the society and will try to enlist others in His service. I will give as I can for the spread of His Kingdom. In these efforts and at all times will I seek the Savior s guidance. Page
