2 SYLLABUS Teacher: Mr. Walter Room: 621 Phone: (562) x Course Description: In AP United States History, students will explore and develop a deep understanding of events and themes of U.S. history through the analysis of primary sources. Students will work hard to develop greater critical thinking and writing skills as they prepare for the AP United States History Exam in May. Course Expectations: Advanced Placement (AP) classes are challenging. AP United States History is a rigorous, college-level course. The rewards can be tremendous, but you must be willing to work hard if you are going to be successful here. Students are expected to follow directions, be proactive, think critically, show respect, and demonstrate maturity and excellence at all times. Textbooks: 1. Bailey, Thomas. The American Pageant. 13 th Edition, Houghton Mifflin Dornbush, Krista. AP U.S. History. Kaplan Required Materials: Two college ruled spiral bound notebooks.
