He said, I can only get to where I m going by walking away from where I ve been. When Teresa and I heard these words, we just looked at each other and smiled. We knew that Winnie was right on target. You simply cannot stay where you are if you have a desire for things to change for the be@er. To be a be@er YOU, conenual adjustments must be made. Personal growth and development require constant self-evaluaeon, life-course alteraeons, and a self-determinaeon to get there. Do you have a vision for your life? Family? Church? Ministry? I ve discovered that as life moves forward, adjustments are necessary as both our needs and requirements change. If we are alive, we are changing! Anything that is staec is dying. So let me ask, are you willing to consider new and different ways of doing things? Are you the kind of person that loves exploraeon? Do you enjoy the challenge when someone says; it will never work here? If the Holy Spirit is speaking to you, it is because He desires to moevate you to move from where you are to where He wants you to be. You have no choice but to stop dragging your feet and get moving. If you are a foot dragger, Jesus is going to have an issue or two with you. In RevelaEon 21:5, He said, Behold, the Lord said, I make all things new. Joe McKeever said of this verse, that is not just a heaven and earth thing. He s making me ever-new right now. Amen! Get started! Take these next steps in accomplishing your dream by developing a mindset that you are going to: (1) Confront the major challenges in your life and ministry. The most important work that we do is o]en the hardest work that we do. Dig in to the challenge and refuse to allow fear to hinder you from your progress. Discover what is broken and FIX IT! (2) CulEvate a team of effeceve leaders around you. You are only as strong as the totality of your team. You have to stop losing before you can ever start winning. Allow team members to flourish in their gi]s. We don t use people because they are there, they are there because we use them! (3) Win with Winnie s Wise Words work on your own leadership growth. Set personal goals for your own self-improvement and ask someone that you trust to hold you accountable. It s never too late to start growing. Your family and your ministry need you to stay moevated and sharp. Don t ever forget that Caleb was 85 years of age when he said, give me this mountain! (See Joshua 14:12) That parecular mountain that he asked for was filled with Giants like the one David fought and killed. Caleb knew that if he was going to get to where he was going, a new path had to be taken. Come to think of it, maybe that s where Winnie The Pooh got his wisdom from?
