3 Celebration 102 Years Union UMC, Delmar The United Methodist Women surprised Mrs. Lillian Hearn on Sunday, April 15 with a snack basket and monetary donation in honor of her birthday. She is the oldest member at Union. She attends church every Sunday and supports and attends our UMW meetings. She offers testimony every Sunday. Mrs. Hearn is a faithful and vibrant servant of God. 5 2018 Annual Conference The Peninsula-Delaware Conference will celebrate their annual conference at UMES in Princess Anne, Maryland on May 31-June 2, The Theme will be: Leading as Followers of the Way Materials - All information and materials will be available on the Peninsula Delaware Conference website ( Click on 2018 Annual Conference on the right side of the screen under Quick Links. Some information is available now with additional info coming as finalized. Preconference materials discs will not be provided. Please download and print material as they become available on the website. Registration - All Clergy, Lay Members and Reserve Lay Members to Annual Conference, and Equalization Members are already registered to attend Annual Conference. (Lay Members and Reserve Lay Members are those listed on your Key Leadership List approved at your Charge Conference - Fall 2017.) Meals and Lodging on Campus - A mailing was sent on Thurs, April 5, to all Clergy, Lay Members and Reserve Lay Members to A/C, and Equalization Members with details about purchasing meal tickets or reserving rooms at the dorm on campus. If you do not want meal tickets or dorm rooms, there is no response needed. 12 Spring Has Sprung at St. Luke UMC in Hebron, MD March 18, 2018, St. Luke celebrated 103 years of service to it's members and community with a 3:30 service with a guest preacher, Rev. Alexinia (Zina) Seldon, from Ebenezer UMC and Samuel Wesley UMC, Everyone present received a pamphlet of our history from the beginning up until the present. During the celebration, the United Methodist Men presented members in the "80 and Over Club" a plaque appreciating them for their dedication to community and church. The St. Luke Gospel Choir celebrated 42 years of singing God's praises in March. On April 14, the United Methodist Men held a prayer breakfast with guest preacher the Rev. Ron Houston speaking. Save the Date: St. Luke will be celebrating Men and Women's Day on May 20th. Rev. These activities are open to our entire Congregation, as well as extended families, friends, and guests. Everyone is welcome to any or all of these special events: Fri 4-6pm - Campers, RV's, and Tents of all sizes welcome to set up for overnight camp - decorate your spaces and get ready for the FUN Fri 730pm - Country Style BBQ with burgers & dogs. Enjoy the Sunset! Fri 830pm - Our new Fire Pit will be blazing, it's a Classic Hymn Sing, kick back around the fire. 31 Position Available Director of Music Ministry Rockawalkin UMC in Hebron, MD is looking to hire a Director of Music Ministry. This is a part-time position. Primary responsibilities are playing for worship (piano or organ preferred), directing the choir, working with the Praise Band and Crossroads Worship Team, selecting the music for worship and working with the Worship Team to set the vision for future worship. 32 Pecometh Day Come join us on April 28 th for Pecometh Day! It's a perfect chance to see Pecometh for the first time and hear about our Summer Camp program, or come back to camp to revisit familiar sites and see familiar faces. This is a free event open to everyone in the community! Creative Worship Design Retreat July 6-7 Campers and parents are welcome to tour the camp property, meet some of our staff, and learn more about the Camp Pecometh program. Activities include Open House Tours, Games, Music, Hayrides, Food, and Exhibits. We will have great entertainment and exhibitors such as balloon artist Steve the Balloon Guy, Party Animals Petting Zoo, Birds of Prey from the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, and live music! DON T FORGET ABOUT THE PECOMETH DAY GIVE-AWAY! On Pecometh Day one lucky winner will win EITHER a $150 or $300 campership for summer camp at Pecometh.
