Languages English Historical Note Edward Hunter was born on 22 June 1793 at Newton Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He served for seven years in the cavalry and three years as Delaware County Commissioner. He moved to Chester County and married Ann Standley in He was baptized into the LDS Church in 1840 and moved to Nauvoo. Hunter served as bishop of several wards, supervised emigration to Salt Lake City, and was called to be presiding bishop in He organized the tithing system and a system to aid the poor.
