English Biographical Note Mary Lythgoe Bradford (b. 1930) is a Mormon editor, critic, and poet. She graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in education and a masters degree in English. Her masters thesis on Virginia Sorensen made Mary the first Mormon to write a scholarly work about the author. She continued this work in literary criticism, She edited Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought from 1978 to 1983, and edited Mormon Women Speak, which was published in Her compilation Leaving Home: Personal Essays won the Association for Mormon Letters award for Personal Essay in Content Description Materials consist of papers relating to the life and career of Mary Lythgoe Bradford. Her personal materials includes diaries and short stories written by the young Bradford, as well as pamphlets and correspondence related to her activity and missionary service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. The personal materials also include genealogy work done by Bradford. Materials related to her professional work primarily include interviews, oral histories, articles, correspondence, and other research related to the writing of Lowell L.
