1 BONITA SPRINGS AERIE #4002 NEWSLETTER September/October 2016 Vol. 12 No SOUTHERN PINES DRIVE BONITA SPRINGS, FL PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Elwyn Tatro Dear Members: Finally, it appears that our Hot-Hot summer is beginning to cool off which means our snowbirds will be ready for us to welcome them back. It has been a rough summer in many areas, guess we should count our blessings! Speaking of blessings, our 10 year Club Secretary is very ill and was hospitalized for about a month. Please send thoughts and prayers to Bill Eble. Bart Hill and Judy Stillwell are doing an excellent job of filling in for Bill. Many thanks to Bart and Judy. Hurry back Bill, we do miss you! New Items in Club Stove in kitchen with convection oven and grill. New air Conditioner in Social Room (old one gave out after 14 years). Time for Thanks Ricky Ruel, combination microwave and convection oven. Bart Streeter, putting in our much needed sidewalk and sod to pool area from the south parking lot. Chad Moening & Doug Watters, painting the pool deck. Bud Palmer, for the beautiful flowers surrounding our Club and their daily maintenance. Paul Dogfood Wenning, for daily assistance inside and outside the club. Ladies Auxiliary for financial assistance to purchase stove. Congratulations to Mr. William Lucek for being elected Florida State Vice at the State Convention in Orlando, Florida. Thanks to ALL Volunteers who assist with all Club Events. We could not survive without you! Welcome to any new volunteers, as we will be getting busier. 2 As the very hot summer is coming to a close, I am looking forward to serve you as Elected this upcoming year! Thank you to all the Volunteers and Joe Sassarini for making our No Hurricane Party a huge success! Thank you to Sharon Dolan for donating the women's clothing to Benefit The Ladies Auxiliary Charities. Congratulations to Ruth Geyer for being elected Auxiliary Florida State Outside Guard! Congratulations to Kara Lockman for being elected of District 6! We are always looking for volunteers to help with various Club Events, any help would be greatly appreciated! Please take time to join us for our bi-monthly meetings! This gives you a chance to see what your Club has coming up as well as being part of the process! We have lots of fun! If you know someone who qualifies, get a copy of the new brochure Those Who Serve and let them know what we have to offer! We have the BEST Entertainment in the Bonita Springs Area!!! 3 FROM THE TRUSTEES Dear 4002 Eagle Member, As another summer season starts to close, we start to look forward to the return of our friends and members that visit us every year. This year provides many new "upgrades" and features to your Eagles Club. This summer we installed a new POS cash register system which will allow us to have many new upgrades. Thanks to our "Worthy ", his direction enabled us to get the pool deck repainted. His direction also enables us to upgrade the oven and stove in our kitchen. A great asset that we needed. The walkway and lawn planting on the south side of the club will enhance the clubs functionality and beauty. Make sure you stop by and see this. We also replaced our air conditioner which was well needed. New things will be happening this Fall: An Oktoberfest for members, families and guests will be held in early October. We will start football "food" days with snacks and sandwiches available during televised games. The return of our Sunday Morning Breakfasts starts with a soft opening on October 16th, with a full opening on November 6th. Many thanks to "new member" Bart Hill who was appointed Trustee Pro Tem for a few months. His help was greatly appreciated. Please continue to watch the monthly calendar for new and updated events.
