1 If You re Happy and And You Know It. Do you remember that old traditional song that says, If you re happy and you know it, then you life will surely show it? That should be a theme song for Christians everywhere! We can be joyful in a broken world, and we know it because we know Jesus. And we know where we re goin when this life is over. Sure, we ll have dark days and temporary setbacks, but the Bible tells us our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that for outweighs them all. (2 Corinthians 4:17). Now that s something to praise God about! (Sharing the Light)

2 BYC SCHOLARSHIPS It seems like I am always asking for money for one thing or another. And now it s time to think about sending our kids to camp. It costs each preschooler $35 to attend Smuchkin camp and $300 for the older students. Can each one of you commit to $5 a week until the end of June? Starting April 10 through June 26.a total of $60 for that simple act of stepping out in faith. Now we have approximately 75 adults in morning worship so multiply that times $60 and I think it comes out to $4500. Look what you just did..you have sent every student in this church to BYC. Some can afford more, some less, but let s take this step and get it done. RICE KRISPIES SQUARES 4 cups Rice Krispies 1 cup butterscotch morsels 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 cup dark chocolate morsel 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon powdered sugar 1 tablespoon butter Melt butterscotch and peanut butter together. Pour over cereal. Take 1/2 of mixture and press into an 8x8 pan. Put in fridge. Now melt chocolate, water, sugar, and butter. If it seems to thick add a little more water. Pour this over your cereal in the 8x8 pan. Spread evenly. Put the remaining cereal mix on top of chocolate mix. Press lightly. Cool for 2 hours. These are yummy. Enjoy. 3 My wife says I talk in my sleep, but I don t believe her. After all, no one at work has ever mentioned it. THE CHURCH MOUSE Maxi and I are getting pretty darn mad at the new secretary. Do you remember the old one, Sally? Well, if you do, you do know she loved chocolate and always had some hidden in the cabinet of the desk. There was never a doubt when we went to that space we would find crumbs of chocolate. Yummy, sweet, dark chocolate. Never failed.it was always there. Oh, my, how things have changed...really changed. This young thing in the office never snacks. Never!!! We couldn t find a crumb anywhere. Hey, Gloria, have you ever, ever, ever heard of chocolate?????? You need to consider our feelings. We are two tiny mice, probably going through menopause, and we need that daily lift. Come on, get with the game. I know you re probably worried about your figure, but not us...we are at the age that we don t care. Please get us some chocolate. If we go to a store people kinda get uncomfortable with our presence. There seem to be a lot of screaming when we appear. So do us a big favor...buy dark chocolate. WHAT S NEW Matt & Rachel have a new microwave. Jim & Sally have a new lawnmower. Ted & Beth have a new car. Dennis & Chris will have a new grandchild. Dana & Ruby also will have a new grandchild. The church has new steps. Josh is a new firefighter. Someday you will look back and know exactly why it happened. OOPS! Offer: We will oil your sewing machine and adjust tension in your home. 4 THERE IS A LARGE, HOMEMADE GET WELL CARD ON A TABLE IN THE FEL- LOWSHIP HALL. PLEASE SIGN IT AND IT WILL BE MAILED TO BILLY GIBSON IN FLORIDA. Faith is a sounder guide than reason. Reason can only go so far, but faith has no limits.

5 This n That I hope we are seeing the end of the flu season. This nasty stuff has effected almost everyone we meet. Families keep passing the bug back and forth. The school kids and adults have had a bad winter. Pray that it is over. Get well everyone. Sympathy is extended to the family of Joanne Wheelock. Her husband Gary passed away in March. Joanne, herself, has been also dealing with illnesses all fall and winter. Praying that this family heals from recent sadness's. Lynn Howard was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer. She will be having surgery the first week of May. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Congratulations to Our Dale. He recently won a medal at the Special Olympics. Way to go, Dale. We are proud of you. So very proud of Josh Carr who is presently a student at UMO. Josh recently had some of his short stories published. Hey, Josh, you will really have to be at your best to compete with Pastor Matt. SPECIAL PRAYERS PLEASE Billy Gibson (Milltown). Bill underwent colon surgery in March. Because of his heart condition this was a very difficult and dangerous surgery. Praise God he survived this procedure. But on Monday, March 27, he suffered two heart attacks while in the hospital. He is in very serious condition. As a community, we are remembering Dale Olsson who passed away April 1. Dale had pneumonia in both lungs, influenza, a heart attack, and many complications from the infections. His funeral was on Tuesday. Keep his family in prayer. Someone else we are proud of is Josh McArthur. He recently passed his EMT exam. He is also taking Fire Fighting classes while working full time for the city. And, he has given up smoking. Congrats, Josh, for all the accomplishments. Nice to have Dennis and Chris Gillespie back from the sunny, warm south. We miss our snowbirds during the winter months. Please look around the congregation some morning and see all our wonderful kids. We are so blessed to have babies to teens here with us. They are our future church. Anything you can do to encourage them, please do. A hug, a smile, or I m proud of you makes a big difference in their little lives. Sympathy is also extended to Steve and Paula Farrar. Steve s dad, Richard, recently passed away. He had attended church with us on many occasions. Also, keep Paula s mom in prayer. She is a patient at the Eastport Nursing Home. Did you attend Maundy Thursday Services? 44 people were here to receive communion as Pastor Matt took us through the original services of Biblical times. He explained the manna, the bitter herbs, the sweetest of fruit and the salted greens. It was a wonderful evening that started with a meal prepared by many hands. The Dominican Keep Cindy Richendollar and Dr. Bob in prayer as they prepare the a mission trip to the Dominican. Be nice to your kids. They will be choosing your nursing home.
