7 Discipleship Institute The Sermon on the Mount is perhaps the best-known and most-beloved sermon ever preached. In this sermon, Jesus shows Himself to be the promised King as He announces the kingdom of God and demonstrates its power. In this twelvelecture DVD series, Dr. Sinclair B. Ferguson explains how this sermon equips us to live a kingdom life in a fallen world. Dr. Ferguson looks at the sermon s teachings on such topics as living counter culturally, the deeper Implications of the law of God, and how the foundational knowledge of God as Father is the cure for all our anxieties. Dr. Sinclair B. Ferguson is a Ligonier teaching fellow and distinguished visiting professor of systematic theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. Dr. Ferguson is a former pastor and renowned theologian. He is also the Dean of the Doctor of Ministry program at Ligonier Academy. Instructor - Fred Jones Fred and wife, Kathy, have been attending Camarillo Community Church since They have one daughter, Breanna who attends California Baptist University in Riverside, California. Fred currently serves on the Board of Elders having served in that capacity for many years. Fred has, also, led small group Bible studies and adult Bible classes. 8 Vocal Spectrum: 2006 Barbershop Quartet International Champions Award Winning Group, Vocal Spectrum, the only barbershop quartet in history to win the three Barbershop Harmony Society s gold medals in all categories. They are known around the world for their entertaining audiences of all ages with Disney classics, Spirituals, Broadway tunes, and hymns. The tenor is the known for being able to sustain a note without a breath for 30 seconds straight. They have won Best Barbershop Album and their single, Go the Distance won Best Barbershop Song. The award winning documentary American Harmony, as seen on Netflix, highlights their journey of becoming the greatest barbershop quartet in history. This is a concert you do not want to miss! 10 Jehovah Jireh Food Pantry serving the hungry in Camarillo A ministry of Camarillo Community Church Location: 379 Mobil Ave. Camarillo What exactly is the food pantry? The food pantry provides supplemental food items on a weekly basis to those who qualify for assistance. Where does the food come from? Donations are from private individuals, community organizations, and markets, along with USDA/Regional food banks. Who serves at the pantry? Volunteers from the church, along with members of the community, including those who receive food from the pantry. A place where YOU can make a difference! The Camarillo Community Church Men s Golf Ministry is looking for players that would be interested in playing one day a month at different local courses from Thousand Oaks to Ojai to Goleta. 13 Men s Ministry Women s Ministry Come join us as we make quilts for the young ladies of Home of Hope in Romania. We are also making baby quilts to go to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Ventura. We would love to see some knitters or those who crochet come join us and maybe make hats for the NICU or scarves for the young ladies of Home of Hope. If you love to make cards and such, it would make a wonderful gift for the Home of Home ladies. If you are not into making things but still want to be a part of this ministry, we could use some help purchasing backing fabrics for the beautiful quilts we have made. 14 Women s Ministry UFO CONNECTION: Ladies join us for the UFO Connection on Friday, May 19th, 5-11pm and Sat. May 20th, 9am-3pm. We meet in the Music Room to work on any Un Finished Object that you would like. Quilting, crochet, knit, or scrapbook, whatever you like to work on, or just come and check it out. It's a fun time to hang out with other ladies in a casual setting to share some time and food. We send out for dinner at 6pm on Friday or you can bring your own. You're welcome to bring snacks to share if you would like. Drinks are provided. 15 Women s Ministry Quilters, Mother's Day is next month, May 14th, so it's time to finish up those quilts that you would like to have hung in our church hallways. If you are working on the Black and White Challenge, as I am, you will want to finish it in time for the big reveal. This year Joe and I will be hanging them on Friday, May 12th, because there is a big Gannatal celebration on Saturday. So please bring your quilts to the church office during office hours between Monday, May 8th, and Thursday, May 11th. Be sure to label them well with your name and the quilt name and any pertinent information, so that I can get the right names on them. Last year I made a few mistakes and I apologize for that. We will return them to the office on Monday and you can pick them up there or at the UFO May 19th and 20th. I am looking forward to another beautiful Mother's Day with all of your works of art. 16 Women s Ministry To all the mothers and teenage daughters of Cam Community, This is a fantastic event that you won t want to miss! Beginning Thursday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. and continuing for eight weeks, we are about to cover the WHOLE BIBLE as one complete story. The study has a workbook with very, very light homework. Seamless covers the people, places and promises of the Bible. You ll gain an overarching understanding of the fundamental layout and meaning of God s Word. The workbook contains maps, facts and word studies. Cost is $15. We have scholarships available so don t be afraid to ask. Sign-ups will begin Sunday April 2nd between services.
