Hebrews 11:1 Faith is knowing that after a cold winter, the flowers on the trees will bloom. Faith is knowing that after pollination, those flowers will produce a juicy apple or tasty blueberry. Faith is knowing that accepting the position of Clerk of Session will not be more than I can handle. I ve looked around the congregation on Sunday and seen faith in action. Faith is going to church on Sunday morning to hear a message on behalf of God, or to sing your praise or simply to shake a kind hand of a cheerful greeter or even to drink a cup of coffee and have a cookie with friends before beginning another week. Our Sunday School children learned about Faith at the end of February. We talked about being disciples and how much faith they must have had to follow Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and waves, he was terrified and began to sin. Save me, Lord! Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. You have so little faith, Jesus said. Why did you doubt me? Matthew 15: Our church has been blessed with consistent messages and guidance from God for more than 3 decades. Now we are beginning a new journey of faith. Faith that the Lord will guide new messages to us. It may be through a new minister; it might be through our eyes opening to messages that we didn t see before. Every Sunday we show up to praise God because of our faith. So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Romans 10:17 As we continue through Spring, the season of change and new beginning, ask yourself often, what is Faith to me? Where would we be without faith? (Continued on page 2)

2 Page 2 (Continued from page 1) Don t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. 1 Corinthians 16:12-14 Be forever in prayer, in worship, in witness, in caring. This church is the body of Christ in East Avon. You need one another. This community needs you. God has put you here for a reason. He needs and wants you here. Hear the good news! 4 Page 4 Rummage Sale Notes It is not too early to start setting things aside for the Spring Rummage Sale. It will be held on May 6 and 7. April 17th through May 3rd are the drop off dates for rummage sale items and sign up sheets will be in the Fellowship Hall. It is also time for us to search out our favorite recipes for the Cake and Bake Sale on May 7. Frosted cakes and other baked goods will be needed (sugar and sugar free). Cakes will be decorated for Mother's Day at the church. Thanks for your support, The Rummage Sale Committee Just for Laughs...

5 Page 5 Communication for All! Sunshine/Cheer. As a reminder, without a minister for a while, we need your help. The Deacons send out cards to those who are ill, grieving, hospitalized or in some other way need to be reached out to. But, if the Deacon does not know about the people experiencing these issues we are unable to get that card and our communication to them. We need your help! Please, when you hear of someone in need, let us know. From April on, the contact will be: Amy Sinclair who can be reached at , or by Sinclairamy25@yahoo.com Be sure to leave a message. If you have difficulty reaching someone, please feel free to contact me Betty Taromino or , or btaromino@yahoo.com and I will get the information to the correct person. PW Crafters are in full crafting again for the 2016 Bazaar on Nov. 19. If anyone has emptied the jell or pint jars that you purchased from the last bazaar and would like to return them along with the rings you can leave them in the church kitchen. We would appreciate it. It will help us to keep the cost down for your future purchases. If anyone would like to join us for crafting or just stop in to see what we are doing, we are in the Fellowship Hall 9:30 am Mondays (except some holidays). Your PW Crafters PW Crafters News
