6 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION ABYSSINIAN INSTITUTE FOR CHRISTIAN EDUCATION 2018 FALL SERIES BROKEN CRAYONS STILL COLOR Tue. 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 7 PM 8:30 PM - Vestry Tue. 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18 7 PM 8 PM Mobile Devices Rev. Pamela D. Mason, Instructor As Christians, we learn to color the events in our lives with the understanding that between the lines of joy and fulfillment there will be landmines of sorrow along the pathway. Christ said, In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world John 16:33b KJV. But, what does this mean when confronting the giants of life. This course is one step that places emphasis on repairing what was broken, restoring what was lost and helping individuals to rise beyond the pain of past circumstances into a deeper relationship with God, family, community and self. NOON DAY BIBLE STUDY MONDAYS 12:00 PM 1:30 PM November 5, 12, 19, 26 December 3, 10, 17 Instructor: Reverend Rashad Moore BIBLE QUEST The focus for October is on the Book of Luke. Strengthen your awareness of biblical facts by responding to as many questions as possible before checking the Abyssinian website for the correct Bible references to the questions. Be intentional about taking time to center yourself daily, as you read the entire chapter where the answers are found. 1) Who was the devout man in Jerusalem who prophesied about Jesus when Mary and Joseph took him to the temple to be consecrated to the Lord? 2) What did Jesus tell the disciples to do if they weren t welcomed at a village? 3) When Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector in Jericho, was converted, what did he tell Jesus he would do? 4) Who was the man that asked Pilate for Jesus body after the crucifixion?

Although 90 percent of those deaths were in people age 65+, the flu also killed 180 young children and teenagers, more than in any other year since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began using its current surveillance methods. Influenza is a respiratory infection of the nose, throat, bronchial tubes and lungs. There are two main types of virus: influenza A and influenza B. Each type includes many different strains, which tend to change each year. Seasonal influenza sometimes causes severe illness or complications, but the great majority of people recover fully without any medical treatment. Anyone can get the Flu, but it is most serious in people 65 years and older, young children, and people with chronic underlying health conditions such as asthma, diabetes or a weakened immune system. Who should get the Flu Shot? Children younger than age 5, especially those younger than 2 years old Adults aged 50 years and older, especially those 65 years and older Pregnant women (and women up to 2 weeks postpartum) Residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities American Indians and Alaskan Natives Health care workers Household contacts and caregivers of children younger than 5 years, (especially those younger than 6 months), adults aged 65 and older, or people with high-risk medical conditions. Flu shots are available today in the Medical Room after services until 2:00 PM Sponsored by The Abyssinian Medical and Health Ministries
