2 A word from the President Well, cooler weather has finally arrived. Not sure if it will last, but it is good while it s here. With the temps in the 80s it almost feels like fall weather. I have noticed that some of the trees are starting to change their colors. I love to ride in the fall time of the year. I hope that we have lots of opportunities to ride and share Christ with others in the next few months. This weekend is the CMA Louisiana State Rally. I hope that you have made plans to attend. It is always enjoyable to see old friends and meet new ones, as well as here some awesome words from God. Jean and I are camping so look for our camper and come visit. Jean is cooking lunch for our chapter on Saturday since we don t have a lot of time between the morning service and the ride to the V.A. Speaking of fall and the changing leaves, the CMA National Changing of the Colors Rally at Iron Mountain will be here before you know it. Jean and I will head up on Thursday, October 5 to take the camper, claim a spot and help with work week. We will head back on Friday afternoon so we can be back to work the LPSO Apples Ride and Bike Show at Howdy Neighbor Day in the park. Our chapter will be assisting with registration. I want to encourage you to begin praying for God to raise up leaders for the new year. We will be having nominations in October and elections in November. Sunday night our pastor preached the feeding of the 5,000 from Mark chapter 6. His focus wasn t so much on the miracle as on the disciples reaction to his command to feed the people. All they could see were obstacles and barriers. Jesus told them to take an inventory of what they had and then he took it and made it sufficient. He can do the same with you and our chapter. Don t look at the obstacles and barriers but rather look at what He has blessed you with and allow Him to use you. I hope you enjoy lots of days on the bike and as always, Wear Your COLORS It s all about Jesus! Chaplain s Corner A Smile from God The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; Numbers 6:25 In the song, "Positively Fourth Street," Bob Dylan sings, "I wish that for just one time, you could stand inside my shoes. You'd know what a drag it is to see you." We may think that God feels that way about us sometimes: "Oh, what a drag. Greg is here. Hi, Greg." But that is not how God feels about us. He smiles. Think about when someone you really love shows up. Your face lights up, doesn't it? That is how God is with us. In contrast, have you ever noticed how idols are always frowning? I have visited museums where I have seen various idols, and they always look like they are mad about something. They are never smiling. But that is not God. He looks at us and smiles. He loves to bless us. And here is something else we may not know: He sings over us. Zephaniah 3:17 says, "For the LORD your God is

4 living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs." I love that. Recently I was pushing my granddaughter on the swing, and as I pushed her I was singing to her. I took the Chris Tomlin song, "Sing, Sing, Sing" but instead sang, "Swing, swing, swing." Since then, whenever I ask her if she wants to go swing, she'll start singing, "Swing, swing, swing." She knows what that song is associated with. I sing over my granddaughter. I sing her Christian songs. I sing her biblical lyrics. I want them to be ingrained in her little mind so she remembers them. God sings over you. He delights to be in your presence. And I hope you delight to be in His. It s all about Jesus! H.O. 5 Victory Riders meet the 2nd Monday of every month at The Brisket House on Highway 84 East. Come early, (around 6) to eat and fellowship and we will begin the meeting at 7:00 P.M. September 23 Leesville Armadillo Motorcycle Rally will take place at the intersection of 3rd street and Lee Street beginning at 10:00 am. The event includes a ride, bike show, music, vendors and more. Bike show registration is from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The fee to enter a motorcycle is $ October 7 Howdy Neighbor Day Bike Run and Show to benefit the Apples Program of the LaSalle Parish School Board, approximate 2 hour ride leaves Courthouse at 9:00 A.M., bike show at Jena Skating Rink after lunch. October 18 22, 2017 Services each morning and evening with prayer, worship, and encouragement from the CMA National leadership team. CMA Goodie Store ~ Seminars ~ Parade & Bike Games ~Vendors ~ time to fellowship around the campfire ~ and don t forget eating, eating, If you hear of events around the state, please let me know so that I can include the info about them in the newsletter. 6 Easy Tater Tot Casserole 32 oz. pkg. of frozen tater tots 16 oz. carton of French Onion dip 2 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese Can of cream of chicken soup Preheat oven to 375. Spray 9x13 dish with Pam. Gently mix all ingredients (except ½ cup of cheese) together in large bowl and pour into the casserole dish. Top with the reserved cheese and bake for minutes. September Holidays September is Classical Music Month hats off to Tchaikovsky, my personal favorite classical composer. September 4 was, of course, Labor Day! September Remembrance Day who could ever forget? September 13 Fortune Cookie Day I guess that means we must eat at the Orchid Garden after church! September 15 POW/MIA Recognition Day; always on the third Friday of September, it is a day of remembrance and hope for the safe and speedy return of POWs and MIAs. First commemorated on July 18, September 16 National Play-doh Day; bring your Play-doh to State Rally!

7 September 21 Miniature Golf Day; I wish there was a course in our area I love to play! September 22 Autumn Equinox; Fall begins! September 22 is also Hobbit Day because it is the birthday of both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings fame. I highly recommend that you celebrate this day by reading (or at least starting to read) the books. The movies are good, but you can t beat the books! September 27 is Crush a Can Day.
