1 Ref: AK/PR/2011/34 Date: 20 th June 2011 Dar es Salaam Jamaat hosts yet another successful Conference of the World Federation The World Federation 13 th Ordinary Conference from 27 th to 29 th May 2011 was successfully hosted by the Dar es Salaam Jamaat; this was the 2 nd WF Conference being hosted the Dar es Salaam Jamaat consecutively in two years, the last WF Extraordinary Conference was held in May The opening of the Conference on Friday night was a breathtaking scene first with Reflection and Recitation from the Holy Qur an then followed by introduction of Delegates and Dignitaries who assembled from different parts of the world representing their regions, organizations and jamaats. The overall organization, services including the Conference setup were carried out superbly by the Organizing Committee of the KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam. The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa expresses its profound appreciation to the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Br. Murtaza Kara and his team of dedicated members. Seen here below is Br. Women participation in this Conference was remarkable when compared to the previous Conferences. Women Delegates and Invitees from several regions and from Dar es Salaam were present.

3 The President of KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam, Alhaj Shiraz Walji and the Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi welcomed the WF Office Bearers, Delegates, Dignitaries, Invitees and Observers to the Conference. It was also a momentous occasion welcoming the Pakistan Federation who have recently joined the World Federation. A paper on Women s Needs Assessment was also presented. 5 Leaders from the Regional Federations, namely Pakistan Federation, NASIMCO, Council of European Jamaats and Africa Federation delivered their Key Note Addresses. The Leaders emphasized on the unity and cooperation, opening a new chapter of working together involving our youth and women in creating a holistic approach to our development. The 13 th WF Ordinary Conference saw the beginning of the new term of the newly elected President of the World Federation, Dr. Asgharali Moledina. After delivering his Key Note Address, Delegates and Dignitaries congratulated Dr. Moledina and expressed their support and cooperation. He read out an important message from the Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali al-sistani whom he met in Najaf recently. The Assistant Secretary General of Islamic Education, Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi presented an important paper on Madrassah Centre of Excellence with a proposed plan of action. 5

Treasurer of the World Federation for his devotion and dedication during the preceding term of office. A cross section of the Conference Hall - A good number of our community members took keen interest and attended most of the sessions of the Conference. 10

11 Thanks to Br. Mohamedhussein Kermalli (Popularly known as Babu Lelu) for serving sumptuous meals to the delegates. Breaks are important for the participants to meet and talk informally thus making new friendship and promoting closer contacts. Our deep appreciation goes to the Dar es Salaam Jamaat for whole heartedly accepting to host the Conference and also to the Organizing Committee and the Volunteers for their wonderful services and arrangements before, during and after the Conference.
