1 EMERGENCY RELIEF PROJECT For EARTH QUAKE AFFECTEES 2015 SPONSORED BY: SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT, ISLAMABAD IMPLEMENTED BY: SOCIAL WELFARE FIELD TEAM, PESHAWAR REGION

2 Background: On 26 TH October 2015, a massive earthquake having a magnitude of 8.1 (on rector scale), hit most parts of Pakistan affecting KPK Peshawar region the most. A huge number of casualties were reported and most of the houses were completely demolished. Earthquake affectees lost their houses, cattle, belongings and much more. Most of the affectees became homeless; they are now under open sky without any relief. In this cold weather under the open sky, these old men, women, children and sick are waiting for our support. Planning & Targets: In this critical situation, social welfare department (SWD) gathered information from the Peshawar region. After need assessment SWD estimated cost and packages were made as per requirement. Details of cost and packages are given below:

12 Village Odigram Feedback from the village 1. Village Odigram was severely affected by the recent earthquake on 26 th Dec 2015 due to which 85 mud huts with wooden roof tops were severely destroyed. Report of this incident was forwarded to Al-Huda International Foundation. 2. Al Huda International Foundation sent their representative to village Odigram for carrying out assessment of the damages and destruction occurred due to the earth quake. 3. On 6 th November representatives of Al-Huda along with the food packages including, pillows, quilt, razai, arrived to the village. The same day the packages were distributed amongst the most deserving individuals of the village.
