2 . Shahina is among one of the forgotten characters from the Dow Class of 79. Her first identity was Shahina Izhar. Over three decades have elapsed and today s Shahina holds a very novel distinctiveness. She is a successful business entrepreneur and an investor in the property trade. She works in Karachi and Dubai. She is sovereign, and by His grace enjoys a thriving life which can be a reverie for any enterprising person.

3 Shahina practiced medicine as a family physician until a few years back in the Gizri area of Defence in Karachi on a purely charity basis. She recalls her days in Thatta. Thirty-four years ago she lived in the small town for nine years. It was after her marriage when her husband worked as a Chief Engineer in the Sindh Governments irrigation department. Shahina opened her clinic in Thatta solely for the browbeaten community. She was appalled by some customary social demeanors of the community and felt gloomy over it, particularly with the practice of isolating women by confining them within the precincts of the home.

4 A glance into her past tells us that she joined the Dow Group of 79 from Larkana in the first year. It was the charisma of Hafiz Idrees that he brought her in his clinical group. Her pals of those times were Nighat Rehman, Saleem Ilyas, Sualeh Shakeel and the late Sabiha also belonged to the cluster. Madam Kishwar Nazli of those times was popular amongst the students. She was vibrant and outspoken. One day while in the ward round she was very annoyed with the responses of Shahina to the queries she was making. Suddenly she had a close look at the white coat Shahina was wearing. The coat carried very stunning embroidery with qureshia work. Madam was mesmerized. She overlooked the scene and like a very typical woman inquired from where have you got this done?. Shahina was not very diligent in studies but tuned herself well enough to pass the exams with dignity She has four sons. The elder is married and settled in States and the younger ones are still in the process of education in business administration and medicine in Pakistan. Times and circumstances are the biggest mentors for any person. Shahina is no exception. She has become restrained and always looks for the remedies of acquiring spiritual solace. The passing years uncover the hidden philosopher in your persona. Shahina has performed hajj four times and the yearly umrahs give her inner peace and harmony. She has done an alima course with Farhat Hashmi s Alhuda. A very staunch believer in the fact that pure and sturdy bonds exist only between the Creator and the created.

5 Over the years Shahina has learned that one should spend his life only according to his own free will. She lives a quiet and secluded life but practices all possible ways to keep herself physically and psychologically fit and agile. She travels a lot, preserves her physical fitness to the optimum, and always tries to maintain a calorie conscious everyday life.
