2 Badar initially belonged to Hyderabad and as a bona fide student of Liaquat Medical College. He studied there for the first two years. It was after passing the first professional exam that he joined the class of 79 in Dow, after migration.

3 He remembers landing in Arshad Majeed s clinical batch in the third year where he was willingly accepted. Badar loved Urdu literature and had begun framing verses at a tender age. He also made a beginning in prose writing. and while in Dow his maiden mystery-cum-adventure based novel was published

4 It was written with characters like Ibne Safi s Hameedi Fareedi and carried the title of The Tenth Assassination. Badar remained a discreet character in life and he passed hisfinalexam in low key

He went to Dublin after graduation and returned after earning a Diploma in Child Health to kick off instantly with a good private practice. The poet sleeping in him awakened with vigor.

He started writing satirical columns on politics in well-liked dailies like Jang, Juraat and Qaumi Akhbar. He was mostly critical of the misdemeanors of the governance. In the same spirit he started writing Quartlets on the editorial page of Daily Juraat following the style of the legendary Raees Amrohvi, Athar Nafees and Anwar Shaoor. The quartlets are written on a daily basis

Badar attained a state of excellence when he started understanding the Quran. His morning hours were devoted for learning at the Quran Academy of Dr.Israr Ahmed.

Additionally he passed M.A examination in the subject of Islamic Studies. He turned into a Mufassir of Quran. He was adopted as a teacher in the Defense Chapter of Quran Academy

8 His interest increased with the passage of time and he became an instructor at the Yaseenabad Chapter of the Academy. His perseverance and devotion was solely meant to please Allah and not for any worldly or material gain. He curtailed his private practice and this has now reduced to a two hour session at night at the Mohammadi Clinic in Federal B Area

9 Badar was involved in certain other commitments which deserve a mention. For a brief period he served as an administrator of Baqai Hospital, as Controller of examinations at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and in charge of RTMC. He enjoyed and organized social activities when he founded LIFE, (Liberalism in Islam Foundation) which gave him tremendous reckoning at one stage.

10 It was a major change when Badar kept a long beard and ultra-long hair. He just liked that and there was no intent to exhibit any religious fervor. Many thought that he has become a Malang or Faqeer and would soon start a peerimureedi business. That was not the factual outlook. The day he learned that keeping long hair was a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) he never thought about trimming them.

11 Fatma Surriya Bajia and Anwar Maqsood happened to be related to the in-laws of Badar. He had lots of oppurtunies to meet the duo. In fact they acted as mentors and tutors to Badar and he is greatly indebted to both for bringing refinements in his personality. Among the children Badar s daughter is an MBA and is settled in Riyadh after marriage. The boys are studying accountancy and media science.

12 Badar Kamil is a gem in the batch of 79. The versatilities in his persona are astonishing and incredible. He is very humble, down to earth and a pure soul.
