3 ANNOUNCEMENTS We join Eric and Amy Bonner in praising God for the birth of their daughter Caroline Grace Bonner, who was born on December 10, Caroline Grace is also the granddaughter of Greg and Alicia Bartlett. We extend our Christian love and sympathy to the family of Chick Dodd, on the death of Chick s father. OFFICER CANDIDATES BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION - a sheet of paper with pictures and biographical information on each prospective church officer is available in the Narthex. The Session has called for a Congregational Meeting today following the 11:00 AM worship service for the purpose of electing: (a) 4 elders for the class of 2014; and (b) 5 deacons for the class of 2014 and one deacon for the class of Those eligible for election are the following: Deacon Candidates: Dan Dykstra, Ken Joiner, Bernard Nolan, John Pursley, Ron Warner, David Westall. Elder Candidates: Charlie Bursi, Lewis Godwin, Rodney Pritchett, Jeff Talley, Bob Whitaker, Bob Wichterman. Please plan to join us for this important meeting. NEW BUILDINGS If you would like to see the new buildings they will be open for you to enjoy 30 minutes before and after Sunday services. Sign-up sheets are circulating in Sunday School classes, or you may sign up on the glass-topped table near the parlor. Items must be dropped off on or before Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. when we will begin assembling the baskets. Feel free to join us then! MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENTS You are cordially invited to attend the 6:00 service this evening, which will include the Christmas program presented by the Midway Children s and Bell Choirs. Ringers, please be in the Sanctuary at 5:00, and singers, please be in the choir room at 5:15. All Midway young musicians are invited to participate in the Christmas Eve Prelude Recital. If you are currently taking lessons in piano or any orchestral instrument, and wish to play, please contact Judy Dodd, , X1106. There will be an old-fashioned caroling event on Friday, December 19 th in the Broadlands subdivision. All Midway families are invited! OFFERING ENVELOPES If you would like to receive preprinted envelopes, please sign up on the table by the sanctuary door near the choir loft. If you have already signed up please pick up your envelopes at this same table. A NEW ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS began on December 7. The format of the class is expositional, verse by verse teaching through various books of the Scriptures. The class is called the Explorers class because that is what we are doing each Sunday - exploring the Word! We are studying through the epistle of I Peter. Wendell Way is teaching this class and the temporary location will be the old sanctuary. Any adult is welcome! There will be no Wednesday Dinner or programs this week with the exception of Joe York s prayer group, who will meet at their usual time. We will resume dinner and all other programs on January 7 th.
