1 The Lord s Day DECEMBER 19, :00 a.m. WELCOME, CONGREGATIONAL MINISTRIES, AND INFORMATION Please use this time to set your hearts on Christ and pray for the Word, our worship, and that holiness and reverence will be known among us. PRELUDE Savior of the Heathen, Come Bach CALL TO WORSHIP **HYMN OF PRAISE O Come, O Come, Emmanuel #194 *INVOCATION (with the Lord s Prayer) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts; as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. *CONFESSION OF FAITH The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *HYMN OF RESPONSE Go, Tell It on the Mountain #224 PRAYER WELCOME (Please sign the registration pad with complete address) THE GIVING OF GOD S TITHES AND YOUR OFFERINGS OFFERTORY A Manger Medley Dengler *DOXOLOGY *THE OFFERTORY PRAYER PSALTER READING Psalm 22 p. 790 ANTHEM O Holy Night arr. Wilberg O holy night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of our dear Savior s birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining, till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices, O night divine, o night when Christ was born! O night, o holy night, o night divine!

2 Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother, and in His name all oppressions shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! O praise His name forever, His power and glory evermore proclaim! His power and glory evermore proclaim! *HYMN OF PREPARATION Away in a Manger #204 (Children K4-1st grade dismissed to children s church.)
