3 PROMISES OF GOD Listen to the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ: "Truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, be removed, and it shall remove, and no thing shall be impossible for you." Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. Our Lord Jesus Christ also said, "Heal the sick and say unto the people, the Kingdom of God is come near unto you." Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. Listen to the words of St. James, the apostle of Christ, "Is there any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith shall save him who is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up and if he has committed sins, it shall be forgiven him. Confess therefore your sins to one another, that you may be healed." Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. INTERCESSIONS Seeing that we have a great High Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, let us come boldly to the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Amen. Remembering that all of God's children are near and dear to Him, wherever they may be, let us first pray for those who need healing but cannot be with us this day. Blessed Jesus, we bring unto your loving care and protection on the stretchers of our prayers, all those who are sick in mind, body, or spirit. Take from them all fear and help them to put their trust in You, that they may feel beneath them and around them your strong and everlasting arms. Cleanse them from all resentments, jealousy, self-pity, pride, or anything else that might block Your healing power. Fill them with a sense of Your loving presence, that they may experience the Kingdom of love in their whole being. And touch them with your divine power that they may be healed according to Your glory and for the building of Your Kingdom upon earth. Amen. 3

O Son of God who went about doing good and healed all who came to you in faith and repentance, we praise and thank You. We beseech you to hear us, O Lord: that you will grant your healing grace to all who are physically sick, injured or disabled, that they may be made whole. We beseech You to hear us. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. This is the Gospel of the Lord! CONFESSION OF SINS Let us humbly confess our sins to God: In our confession let us think not only of gross sins but sins of disposition as well: bitterness, worry, hurt feelings, resentment, jealousy, spiritual pride, living in the past, self-love, self-pity. Almighty God, Lord of all, we confess that we have sinned against You in thought, word and deed. Have mercy on us, O God. According to Your great love do away with our offenses and forgive us all our sins, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen. So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Worshippers are invited to stand and share the peace of the lord with each other. Children can come down to the chancel steps for the children s message. ABSOLUTION The almighty, loving and merciful God now gives you absolution and remission of all your sins. 8 GARING OF OUR TIS AND OFFERINGS God doesn t need our money, but in His grace He gives us the privilege to be stewards of everything He has entrusted to our care. We can do more together than separately. As one body in Christ, our congregation has agreed to offer our first fruits to support ministries and missions that enable us to communicate Christ s love to everyone, everywhere; and our love for Him. 9 REGARDING HOLY COMMUNION: As Lutheran communicants, we believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in this Holy Supper. Be mindful of the words of St. Paul: We ought to examine ourselves before we eat of the bread and drink of the cup. (1 Corinthians 11:28) Are you truly sorry for your sins? Do you believe that your sins are forgiven because Jesus died for them? Do you believe that Jesus gives you his own body and blood in the Sacrament as a seal of that forgiveness? Is it your sincere intention to do better in living a Christian life? Then come, and receive assurance and strengthening from Jesus. NOTE: In the center of each communion tray are a few glasses with grape juice wine for those who are on alcohol restrictive medications or who, for personal reasons, wish to abstain from wine. Also we have gluten-free communion wafers available for those who need them. They are in the small plastic containers on the wafer trays (patens). The empty plastic containers may be placed in the bags with the used communion cups. HOLY COMMUNION The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give Him thanks and praise. It is our grateful duty to give thanks to You, O Lord, who gives us health and salvation; whose Son came into the world that we might have life in abundance; who in His love for all people ministered to their infirmities and gave both the power and command to His disciples to heal the sick. We give You thanks and praise that You have continued Your healing work among us. May we never forget Your faithful mercies, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Therefore with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify Your glorious name, evermore praising You and singing: Holy, holy, holy Lord, Lord God of pow r and might: Heav n and earth are full of your glory.
