1 From Pastor January Missions Month The first month of the new year is an especially appropriate time to have our hearts stirred for the cause of home and foreign missions. The Great Commission is after all, our Mission Statement! Because of the abundant blessings our country has enjoyed over our brief history, American churches have been used by God as the means of financial support missionaries need to get to and to stay on the field to which God has called them. As we have concluded December 2012 with the celebration of God s gift to us of our Lord Jesus, let us begin 2013 with the commitment of our gifts to the work of the Lord in Missions ministries. Over the course of the month you will meet the missionaries we introduce you to by way of this booklet. Please begin today praying for them as we host them this Missions Month. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. Pastor W. M. Rench Sunday, January 6 Vision Sunday Missions Month Kickoff Missions Sunday, January 6 kicks off our new year. We are unveiling the theme for 2013, presenting some goals for the new year, giving out our church calendars and beginning our missions emphasis through the month of January. Begin praying now for the special emphasis of this day, and for the whole month of January as we begin our Month.

2 Wednesday, January 9 Mark & Victoria Irmler Simi Valley, CA Copied from Mark Irmler founded the Ambassador Baptist Church of Fresno in 1989 and served there as senior Pastor for 18 years. During this time, the church moved from a hotel room to their present 14 acre property. In 2007 Mark became Director of Fundamental Church Plants. In this capacity he has helped in over 12 church start-ups throughout the United States. He also lead the church in Fresno to reach out to neighboring communities to see three other Independent Baptist Churches started. During the past four years Mark has taught several courses at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA. Although his main emphasis of teaching has been church planting, he has also taught some Biblical Counseling and Old Testament Bible classes. Mark, his wife, Victoria, and their two teenage children believe that the Lord is leading them to Southern California to see the Crown Point Baptist Church of Simi Valley established. Several other couples will be working with them in this endeavor. 3 Sunday, January 13 (Evening) Missionary Arturo Munoz Pueblo, Mexico Copied from Brother Arturo Muñoz was saved at the age of 8 years old in Culiacán, Sinaloa. God called him to preach on July, 1992 during a family camp in San Antonio, TX under the preaching of Pastor Mike Patterson. One month later he went to Oklahoma Baptist College to study to be a preacher under the leadership of Pastor Jim Vineyard. He graduated in During a trip to California the week of Thanksgiving of 1998, while visiting some churches, Arturo met Nicole for the first time. They married on June 26, In May of 2001 they arrived in Puebla with their son Japheth and all of their things in the back of a trailer. Seven years later, still on the mission field, God has blessed them greatly. Five more children were born to them while they were in Puebla: Rachel, Sarah, David, Hanna (twins) and Ashley. His wife Nicole is expecting baby #7 due in the month of July Little did Brother Arturo know that in less than five years the church would be able to purchase its very own building and have an average attendance of 120 people. Souls have been saved, families have been rescued, teenagers and adults have surrendered for full time service. Currently there are 8 young people preparing themselves in 3 different Bible Institutes to serve the Lord Full time. Many of them to be Pastors. In 2007, Brother Arturo also became the Editor of the Spanish Christian Magazine El Fundamentalista, which is now read by more than 10,000 people in the Hispanic world. 4 January (Tue. - Thu.) National Church Planting Conference Heartland Baptist Bible College OKC, OK Every year, Calvary Baptist Church is honored to be able to participate in the National Church Planting Conference hosted by Heartland Baptist Bible College of Oklahoma City, OK. Our Christmas offering is used in this home missions endeavor as church planters from all over America come to present the financial needs of their respective churches. As the needs are presented, pastors of larger churches (like ours) bring funds from their missions budgets to give to those in need. This year our church has already been able to assist Pastor Jayson Brown who planted a church in Lakeside, CA. Pastor Brown is flying out to the conference to present Victory Baptist Church, new home church of former Calvary Baptist members Randy & Davina Beam and Tim & Darlene Rusk. This year is the second year that the Teens of Faith are able to participate in this exciting form of missions as they have been collecting a weekly offering to donate to the church planters. All told, the Teens of Faith are able to help over 20 new churches at $50 each, and our church as a whole is able to give several thousand dollars to meet financial needs like church van repairs, pastor s family dental work, tract printing, chair purchases, building renovations, land purchases and much more. The Sunday following the Church Planters Conference (Jan. 20), Pastor will give a report on what church plants we were able to assist.

5 Sunday, January 27 (Morning) Missionary DeVare Williams Chile Copied from WilliamsForChile.com: Growing up I had always wanted to be a professional football player. During my high school years the opportunity to play college football was more real than ever before. I grew up in a broken home with no father in sight and a mother who had challenges raising 5 kids on her own. I am the only one of 5 kids to graduate from high school and college. As a teenager I went to youth camp and made a profession of faith at the age of 16. My life never changed after youth camp and it wasn t until my sophomore year of college when I truly accepted the Lord as My personal Savior and surrendered my life to Him. I met my wife Cindy while at Bible College, and were married in June of The Lord has blessed us with 4 great kids. During college the Lord burdened my heart about missions, but I never really wanted to go to the field as a missionary. As I went through life running from God, he brought challenges into my life and marriage. Through all the ups and downs in life the Lord has always been there letting me know when I am ready to serve Him, He will be waiting for me. That s when I met a man from Chile and the Lord allowed me to share my heart and the Scriptures with him. The Lord began to work in my heart about serving him full time in Santiago, Chile as a missionary reaching the Chilean people. I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve the God of second chances on the mission field of Chile reaching souls for His kingdom.
