4 PART IV NARRATIVE INFORMATION (Attach your narrative information, using the outline below. The statements/questions in the outline below are only suggestive of the kinds of information you might wish to include in this narrative section.) A. THE CHURCH AND COMMUNITY 1. The Church Flat Lick Cumberland Presbytery is a country Church located in rural Hopkinsville, Kentucky south west of town. Nestled on 20 acres of land with our own Cemetery on one side and a vacant lot of land on the other, purchased for future expansion. Our church is a Christ centered servant Church, where every member has a ministry. We have a wide variety of occupations in our church, from Engineers to Farmers to Active Duty Soldiers. Basically made up of working class folks, that are a very friendly, close knit family. We are a predominately Caucasian Church. However, our doors are open to anyone who wants to come and worship with us and become a member of our church. We know no strangers. In the last few years we have added five new Sunday School rooms with plans to add a Recreational Facility in the future at the appropriate time. 2. The Community The population of Hopkinsville is about 70,000 people, not counting an additional 26,000 plus soldiers located at Fort Campbell, which is only 10 minutes away. We are only 10 minutes away from Clarksville, TN as well, whose population is 100,000 plus. We are also approximately 80 miles west of Nashville, TN. Hopkinsville is a growing community with recent additions of Lowe s and a Wal-Mart Distribution Center. There are two medical facilities in town, Jennie Stuart Medical Center and The Trover Clinic. Blanchfield Army Community Hospital located on Fort Campbell, KY. Gateway Medical Center located in nearby Clarksville, TN of which a new bigger facility has just been completed. There are several medical facilities in Nashville, of note, Vanderbilt Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital and Baptist Hospital. Education opportunities abound in and around Hopkinsville. The following is a list of a few schools in and around Hopkinsville: Hopkinsville Community College Hopkinsville, KY Murray State Regional Campus Hopkinsville, KY Austin Peay State University Clarksville, TN Draughons Junior College Clarksville, TN Miller Motte Business College Clarksville, TN University of Tennessee Knoxville, TN Nashville has several vocational schools as well. Hopkinsville has one of the best Christian schools in the area, which is Heritage Christian Academy grades K3 12. We also have eleven public school and two high schools, all of which are some of the best in the state.

5 The Community con t Kentucky Lake and Barkley Lake otherwise known as Land Between the Lakes is located approximately 45 minutes from our church. It s a place where you can enjoy camping, fishing, boating or golf. B.
