And when the disciples raised their eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus alone. Matthew 17: 7-8 The courage Christ imparted to His first disciples is also imparted to us by virtue of our baptism. Stewardship is an invitation from God. It is an invitation to courageously join in the work of the Church. Have you remembered St. Joseph Church in your will?

2 The Transfiguration of the Lord Dn 7:9-10, 13-14; Ps 97:1-2, 5-6, 9; 2 Pt 1:16-19; Mt 17:1-9 May God have pity on us and bless us; may He let His face shine upon us. Psalm 67:2 I had gone away to a quiet place, not to pray, but to sulk. My husband s recovery from open heart surgery had stretched into weeks. I had carried the load and was tired, frustrated and, yes, angry. Sitting down in a big chair by a window, I plopped my feet on the ottoman and leaned back to wallow in self-pity. The sun streaming through the window bathed my face in its warmth. Gradually, my anger dissipated, the hardness of my heart began to soften. I felt renewed. In the quiet place, I came to realize that, more than the sun, it was the Son that gave the day new meaning. Gracious God, for the gift of Your Son who truly is with me in dark times, as well as bright, I thank you. Judy Schueneman, Living Faith, Mark Neilsen, Editor Our Church Air Conditioner Compressor had to be replaced. The total bill will be close to $10,000. It is a 15 ton unit which is 1/2 of our system. Many of us know the discomfort of our Church prior to airconditioning. It is hard to imagine having a Mass without it. The comfort provided makes Masses an easier place to focus our attention on the worship of God and attentiveness to the word of God. Donations are encouraged to assist with this extra expense. Thank you, Fr. Terry and Facilities & Grounds Committee Marriage Moment And {Jesus} was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun. (Mt 17:2) What is the most endearing physical feature of your spouse? Has it changed over the years? Parenting Pointer Read a book to (or with) your child that was a favorite when you were their age.
