1 Special Announcement: We will hold a Voter s Meeting today after the morning Service in order to discuss and vote on: 1. A proposal to transfer a sum of ULu Church's funds into the Capital Campaign fund. 2. A time line, which if approved, will be presented to our donors. 3. Pastor will also present an opportunity to support future pastors. Summer Schedule: The summer months are upon us and many students will soon be leaving West Lafayette for the summer months. Please note the following important dates and schedule changes: Saturday, May 9 th : Semester and Finals End Friday, May 15 th -- Sunday, May 17 th : Commencement Ceremonies Sunday, May 17 th : Last Sunday 7:00pm service until the Fall semester. May 17 th is also the last Sunday for the ULu van service until Fall. THANK YOU to everyone who supported the LWML's fundraisers and donated toward the Wittenberg Project! Because of your generosity, we have met our goal of $500, and ULu is now part of the project's Reformation 500 Club. Congratulations to Joe Atha on his Confirmation: Please join us in celebrating the confirmation of Joe Atha, who has recently completed confirmation class and is a recent Purdue graduate, as well. Joe has chosen for his confirmation verse, Proverbs 16:9, The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. God s blessings on Joe as he grows in his faith and service to the Lord! School Supply Collection: With a Thrivent Action Team grant, Jean Bristol will be collecting school supplies to fill 50+ backpacks to give to children at Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, Texas during our Servant Event in mid-july. We will be collecting the school supplies through mid- June. School supplies needed include pencils, pens, crayons, colored pencils, markers, note books, notebook paper, and scissors, and rulers. Please help us to fill these backpacks. There will be a box in the narthex for the donated items. 1

2 Thank You: Many thanks to the following people who helped prepare and pack almost 250 health kits to be distributed during the 2015 summer servant event at Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso and Mexico: Mike and Jean Bristol, Lisa Molotla, John and Nancy Maylath, Anna Schultz, Kaitlin Leinhoop, and Anthony Kiefer. Soles4Souls Shoe Collection: Soles4Souls collects all kinds of shoes for the needy in the world. Please donate your gently used or new shoes in the downstairs box to help this worthwhile cause. Amy Leineweber at with questions. LWML End-Of-Semester Party: The LWML will be having an end-ofsemester party on Saturday, May 16th. We will meet at the church at 11:30am and carpool to Sacred Grounds. Afterward we will play games. Hope you can join us! CONGRATULATION TO OUR GRADUATES! Deuteronomy 31:8 Jacob Cronauer graduates with a Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering and is currently looking for a position in a process engineering role. Christina L. Doell graduates with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy with a concentration in Crop and Soil Management. She plans to work on a small farm in Lafayette, or at home in Ft. Wayne while she job hunts. Tim Katamba graduates with a Material Science Engineering degree and will begin working as a Steel Business Associate engineer for a steel company in Ohio. Mattia Rostochak graduates with a degree in Chemical Engineering and will begin working for ExxonMobil in Beaumont, TX. Alex Wallace will graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has taken a position at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Audra Franz is graduating with a degree in Public Horticulture and is currently in the job hunt process. Nate Smock is also graduating in May. 2

5 Van Schedule University Lutheran provides a free van service on Sunday mornings and evenings for students who may need a ride to and/or from church or Bible study. The van is tan and clearly marked with University Lutheran Church. Call the church ( ) if you miss the van or need a ride at some other time. After worship, there is time for you to get some refreshments and visit with others, before the van leaves.
