BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED EBA Church Focus: Hardwick Evangelical Church Hardwick is six miles west of Cambridge and the village has expanded considerably as demand for new homes in Cambridgeshire intensifies. Hardwick Evangelical Church meets in the primary school on Sundays and has a combination of lively activities and a full midweek programme. The church has two Co-Ministers Steve Gaze and Kate Gaze. There are also two volunteer leaders or elders Susie Thomson and Wil Huisman. In addition, Clare Cronin works as a part-time youth worker, and Susie Thomson leads the West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries, as well as serving on the church leadership team. Pray that they will find someone to lead Children and Families initiatives, helping with church-based families as well as in the village community. They are hungry to hear and see more of God's presence working in lives individually and together! Do join us in the Prayer Space as we gather for a time of prayer before the morning service, am. If you have any items you would like included in the prayers in the services, please give them to the person at the welcome table in the foyer before the morning service. If you would like someone to pray with you at the close of the service, please come down to the front of the church.
BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in New Mills Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Pray for the Soup Run Team on the 1st Monday of each month. May the Lord protect and be leading in all the conversations. Ministry of the Week: Pray for Paulo and Claudia as they settle into a new home and a new city. Pray for fruitfulness in their ministry- to see lives transformed and many come to know the abundant life that there is in the name of Jesus. Pray for Encounter tonight. Pray that it is a time spent in God s presence and that the Holy Spirit will inspire all those who attend. Pray for all the social groups who are reaching out to all who come to NCBC. May they be grafted into the Lord and the life of the Church. Praise the Lord that NCBC was able to help out in the recent cold weather, offering shelter and a meal to the homeless. Thanks to God that the provision of the Silver Road building enabled us to use it as a place of refuge. Pray for Norwich Food Bank as they take on a new Warehouse Manager. May the team receive God s guidance and give His gentleness in the settling of a new person into a very important role. Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in Unicorn Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Ministry of the Week: Prayerfully consider the name of the building at Silver Road as we go forward with new ministry in this area. Lift all the Pastoral Team up for prayer, with all the demands on them. Pray they will be able to respond with compassion and love to each individual need. As the Alpha course comes to an end, pray that those who have gone through the course will have been grounded in their faith and have a desire to grow even more. Let us pray for all the unemployed. Whether it be those who have struggled with this for many years or those who are now faced with suddenly losing their jobs, pray that the Lord will provide comfort, motivation, wisdom and give those people a true sense of worth. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. May we be immersed in our Lord today. May we just take the time to sit and breathe in His awesomeness. Let us take time to be thankful today, for all the good things our Father does for us. He fills my life with good things! Psalm 103:5 Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in Bucks Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Ministry of the Week: Pray that the new Church Office would have a positive impact on the welcome that people using our premises receive.

BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED An influx of Venezuelan migrants into Brazil and Colombia is challenging already stretched resources. Please pray that the migrants will receive opportunities of employment and a safe place to stay. New research indicates that, at current rates, no single country in Africa is set to end childhood malnutrition by 2030 one of the key targets of the UN's Sustainable Development goals. Please pray for children suffering from malnutrition, and pray that this research will help galvanise governments into greater action. The rainy season in South Asia (mid-march through April) risks causing major damage to the Rohingya refugee camps, which have little or no protection against landslides and flooding. Emergency measures are being put in place, but urgent prayer is needed. Please pray that the rains will not be too severe, and pray for protection for these vulnerable people. Human Trafficking still takes place in every continent and most countries. Most still goes unreported and not noticed. Please pray that souls will not be treated as commodities, and those responsible to every growing illegal trade we be convicted by God and turn their lives around. If we hoped the Syrian war, killing and mass migrations were over, we were sadly wrong. Please continue to pray for much needed peace, and no more tyranny. Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in Indigo Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Ministry of the Week: Pray that people who use our premises would use the new Prayer Space and that this would help them in their faith journey. Tension surrounds the relationship between UK and Russia and President Putin re-elected for a 4th term. Please pray for stability, understanding and calm. Still no week goes by without some weather-related incident almost certainly related to climate change. Time is running out for us to do something about it. Pray that a sense of urgency will create some meaningful action. As Spring begins to show signs of it s arrival, let us look on this new season as a new chance to renew our relationship with God. May we look at the flowering buds and the new life around us and be refreshed in Him, with Hope of things to come. Pray that the world will know our God alone is God. O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that You alone, O Lord, are God. II Kings 19:19 Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in Dyers Yard. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Pray for Richard and Julie s wedding today. Praise God for this joyous event! Pray that their marriage will be blessed with God at the centre of their lives together. Ministry of the Week: Pray for the Leadership elections next month. Pray for God s guidance and our discernment as we choose new leaders. Have you noticesdour new Prayer Space in the foyer, at the entrance to the Sanctuary? Anyone is welcome to use this space for prayer both on a Sunday and during the week. If you would like to use it during the week and are unsure of the times the church will be open, please contact the church office.
INVITING Baptism Adults We are holding baptism services here on Sunday May 20th, in both the morning and the evening services. If baptism is something that you are thinking about, please speak to Mark about the possibility of being involved. Young People One of our young people has asked about being baptised and, to help her explore this further, we are going to be running some sessions looking at some key areas. If you know your child is interested in exploring baptism (without any commitment to be baptised), please speak to Mark or Andy so that we can arrange a time that suits most people. The material will be aimed at those from around Year 5/6 upwards SHARING LIFE Keith & Joyce Palmer would like to thank all those in the church family for their cards, good wishes, offers of help, visits and prayers following Joyce s total hip replacement. This has been a great source of support and encouragement to both of us. We thank the Lord for his faithfulness and the comfort of his presence through this difficult time and look forward to being back with the fellowship soon. Terry & Gill Baxter would like to thank everyone very sincerely for all the love and kindness shown to us over the past few weeks. We have been quite overwhelmed by the practical support we have been given. So, thank you to everyone who prayed for us, cooked meals, visited, phoned, gave us lifts, helped with shopping, took time to write a card or note and also stood in for us at NCBC. Everything has been so much appreciated. A big welcome to Paulo and Claudia who have recently arrived and have moved into the Manse at Mousehold Avenue. We look forward to getting to know them and working with them.
SHARING LIFE 20:20 Social Evening Come along for this casual, 18-30's social evening here at NCBC. A chance to meet new people, play your favourite board game and eat some tasty pudding. Further details from Alan Gidney At our AGM on 23 rd May 2018 we will be providing a report of all that s gone on in the life of the church over the last year. It would be good to include a report from all the groups and organisations that come under the banner of Norwich Central Baptist Church. To that end could all group leaders please prove a contribution by Sunday 6 th May to bev@norwichcentral.org or via Bev s pigeon hole. Many thanks. GDPR: All church members will have received a Privacy Notice and Consent Form. Please could all forms be returned to the Church Office as soon as possible. We will be holding a Special Church Meeting on Wednesday 11 th April at 7.30pm. Please could all members do their best to join us as we look at the role of Youth & Children s Pastor within the NCBC staffing structure and Andy Eyre s request for a commendation for applying for Ministerial Recognition. Parking is available at the doctor s surgery for the evening. We are asking for ideas and thoughts regarding the name for the old Silver Road Baptist Church site. As a church we are referring to both sites as either NCBC Duke Street or NCBC Mousehold. However the site needs its own name and something that is attractive and meaningful for the community. If you have any ideas or suggestions please drop an to office@norwichcentral.org or let Mark, Gill, Grant or Bev know.
