3 General Data Protection Requirements This is not the most exciting article to appear in a church newsletter but it is an important one! The GDPR comes into force in May 2018 and means that we need to change the way that we keep data / information about people and also how we share it amongst leaders, church members / attendees as well as online. The types of documents and information that this relates to are, for example: Minutes of meetings Contact details (our church contact list) Photographs Prayer chain requests Registration forms and details for events In order to ensure that we comply with the legislation and treat personal data / information securely, we will be: Drafting a new Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy which will detail how we will store and share personal information. Writing to and talking to all church members to gain consent for storing and sharing personal information according to our Policies. Amending publications to ensure that it is clear what we will do with information provided. Providing guidance for all group leaders who keep information. Recording consent given to us on IKnow.
4 BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED Each month members of our church take a Service at Grays Fair Court, a Housing with Care home for older people. It is held on the second Sunday in the month at 11.a.m. The preachers vary from month to month and this time, on the 11th March, it will be Chris Cleary. This ministry is supported by several members of the fellowship in preaching and music, so please do remember them in prayer. Alan and June Gidney are the faithful leaders of this ministry. Have you notices our new Prayer Space in the foyer, at the entrance to the Sanctuary? Anyone is welcome to use this space for prayer both on a Sunday and during the week. If you would like to use it during the week and are unsure of the times the church will be open, please contact the church office. Our Encounter Service this month will be held at the Silver Road site due to the County Music festival at NCBC. Do join us in Room 3 as we gather for a time of prayer before the morning service, am. If you have any items you would like included in the prayers in the services, please give them to the person at the welcome table in the foyer before the morning service. If you would like someone to pray with you at the close of the service, please come down to the front of the church.
5 BIBLE-BASED & PRAYER FOCUSED Thanksgiving for the Sizewell Weekend away, for all the deepening of friendships and new ones founded. Praise God for the gentleness of the teaching and pray that what was learned will not be taken away. Lord, please break any strongholds within our church that may be holding us back from reaching the potential of ministry that you want us to meet. Continue to ask the Lord for wisdom and discernment for the management of Silver Road and that what He wants to see happen in that part of Norwich will come to fruition. Pray for the special Fairtrade Bring and Share Lunch and Eco information event being held at NCBC today. May all those that attend be inspired in how to take care of God s world. Pray for Alan Gidney, preaching at Corton House this morning. Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in Barnards Yard Block. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Ministry of the Week: Thank God that Cafe Tots is so well attended. Pray for good conversations with those that come and that they would experience God s love through our love for them. Praise the Lord for all who lead worship, that they themselves will not just be musicians but true worshipers of God. Pray for the Alpha course taking place tonight. Pray that the leaders will have a freshness and clarity in the teaching that only comes from God. Please pray for creative ways for us to make full use of the new prayer room. May it be a place of peace, prayer and full of Gods presence, not just on a Sunday but seven days of the week. Please pray for opportunities we have for showing the Lord s love to all who share our building. We are the salt, We are Light, We are the Hope of the World. Continue to pray for the Rohingya refugees living in camps in Bangladesh. Pray specifically for protection during the monsoon season. Pray for those leading the service at Grays Fair Court today. Northeast Brazil has experienced drought for the last seven years which has left a trail of crop failures, loss of livestock, and water shortages in the region's cities. Please pray for rain and for our partners in Brazil as they seek a sustainable solution to this problem. Violence has recently broken out in the north-eastern Ituri Province of Democratic Republic of Congo. Many women and children have been killed and villages burned, causing thousands to flee their homes. Please pray for those affected and that the situation will not escalate further. At least 17 people have been killed in Mozambique's capital, Maputo, and many more injured after a huge mound of rubbish collapsed please pray for the city's poorest residents for whom the dump is home.

Pray that justice is brought quickly but also that the people still desperately in need of support continue to get it. Another month and another terrible school shooting in the US please pray for all the families, grieving that they will find comfort through our loving God. Pray for those campaigning to find better solutions to the problems of gun ownership and use. We ve been reminded in last few weeks about the suffragettes and the right to vote there is still much prejudice in the UK and all around the world please pray for all areas of prejudice to be removed in all walks of life. Thank the Lord for the life of Billy Graham. As he is welcomed into Heaven, let s pray that his ministry continues to bless people all over the world but also that we will see more and more workers of the Lord rise up and instigate revival. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Street of the Week: Pray for all those people living in The Moorings. Why not prayer walk the street as you pray. Ministry of the Week: Pray that all those who attend the Easter services would receive a warm welcome and have a new and fresh understanding of the amazing truth that God sent His son Jesus to be the saviour of the world. And the nations said What amazing things the Lord has done for them. Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! Psalm 126:2-3. May we praise Him and remember what amazing things he has done for us. There is increasing evidence everyday of subtle persecution of Christians in the UK. Let us pray that we stand firm in these times. The Lord said we would face tribulation in this life but may we remember that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Father, bless us with your Holy Spirit. Wash through our Church and leave no one uncleansed. May we be completely open to the works of the Spirit. May we come expectantly to receive from Him. Pray for blessings over our Good Friday activities. May we once again come before the cross and humbly praise Him for his sacrifice. He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By His wounds you are healed. 1 Peter 2:24 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please Him. 2 Cor 5:9

12 KINGDOM-INSPIRED In wisdom you made them all, the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number living things both large and small. When you send your Spirit, they are created and you renew the earth. Psalms 104: 25, 30 Recycling at NCBC We take our care for God s planet seriously at NCBC and have had recycling facilities in place for many years. More recently the local councils have introduced wider recycling capabilities from home, so some of the things that you used to bring to NCBC can now be recycled from home, including batteries and UHT/ Tetra packs. Please check with your local council if you are unsure. Unfortunately we are no longer collecting plastic milk bottles or lids as they cannot be sold to make money for charity. Instead, these can be recycled at home. Whilst at NCBC look out for (and use) the food recycling bins (in the kitchen) and recycling bins in the meeting rooms and corridors for paper, cans, glass, aerosols, card, plastic bottles and tubs.
