4 CAPS, CAPS, AND MORE CAPS: Most of you know that the KnitWits (Knitting as Witnesses) provide prayer shawls, baptismal blankets, and scarves for various missions, but did you know that they also provide caps? Since 2011, the Saint Andrew s KnitWits have made and donated approximately 450 caps for various missions that include the MaaSAE students, educational programs about shaken baby syndrome, the veterans at Andrew s Glen, and others. The KnitWits have also provided chemo caps for those who are undergoing chemo therapy. As part of Cancer Awareness month, the caps at the altar rail are chemo caps that are available for you to take for someone who is undergoing chemo. If there are any questions, please see Dianne Chong. HEALING PRAYERS are offered during the distribution of Holy Communion. Kneelers are provided on the east and west sides of the sanctuary. Trained healing ministers are waiting to receive your requests before or after receiving the Eucharist. It can be especially meaningful to have a laying on of hands and an anointing of oil, if desired. It is appropriate to bring ANY request or concern that you may have for yourself or someone else. These may be prayers for emotional, spiritual, or physical healing. It can be a peace that brings wholeness, according to God s will, in a number of ways. If you are unable to walk to the kneelers, please ask an usher to assist or move to the bottom of the stairs on the East side of the sanctuary (near the pulpit) and the Healing Minister will come to you. W E L C O M E TODAY AT SAINT ANDREW S WORSHIP SERVICE CAPTIONING: Today, real-time captioning of the 11:00 am worship service is available, making our worship service accessible to those who are hard-of-hearing. You can use your smartphone or tablet to access the captioning (the sanctuary has a WiFi connection.) Go to: event/standrews/ (If you see a login page, the captioning is not yet active. Refresh your browser near the beginning of the worship service.) The website displays real-time captions of what is being spoken in the service, similar to closed captioning on television. EQUAL EXCHANGE FAIRLY TRADED COFFEE AND MORE: Support our Global Outreach by purchasing fairly traded coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and chocolate bars (in the Narthex between services). By purchasing these items, you help the coffee and cocoa bean farmers in impoverished countries receive more money for their crops by eliminating the middle man s cut. 4
