4 We re well into 2018 and ready to begin Guide #2 of our 2018 at The Book Family Initiative. How has it gone so far? Now is a good time to either continue onward or if needed, use this as a good opportunity to start afresh. Remember our goal. We want our children to be regularly reading and applying the words of scripture. We want to be consistently studying the Bible together and growing more deeply in love with Jesus. When I discovered Your words, I ate (devoured) them. They are my joy and my heart s delight. Jeremiah 15:16 Jeremiah did not just hear the Word of God or repeat the Word of God or remember the Word of God. He ate it! ating implies an eager study with a cheerful reception and intense belief. His inward life became one with the truth and it brought him joy and delight.

5 Please note: there are a couple of changes in this guide. ach week will now include 4 short Bible readings, puzzle, memory verse and space for one question. For some lessons, there is also a free bible app you can download called Bible For Kids. The title of videos will be included on the For older elementary age children, this is an opportunity for them to read the passages on their own, followed up by discussion with you as parents. For younger elementary and preschoolers, you will want to read the passage or corresponding Bible story together. In addition, at the back of the booklet is a place to list praises to God and prayer requests, those situations where you need God to act. The reading passages match the Kindergarten-5th grade Gospel Project curriculum used in class at church. This gives the kids an opportunity to discuss the Bible passages with you as parents and then on Sunday morning with peers and leaders. Please make it a habit to remind your children to bring their Bibles and guides to class each Sunday in their handy at The Book bag. The goal of this year s at The Book Family Initiative is: 1. Create curiosity and hunger to hear God speak through His Word. 2. stablish habit of daily Bible study. 3. quip parents to share God s Word with their children. 4.
