2 In this biblical guide to authentic repentance and restoration, Beth examines why devoted followers of Jesus Christ can fall into the traps of Satan. Believers are still subject to Satan's attacks. He is determined to disrupt the lives of Christians, destroy their ministry, and steal their joy. Sadly, those who have "fallen" may not recognize the devil's schemes until they have already been caught in a snare of defeat. This six-week women's Bible study is written in three parts. The first part is a warning to believers, while the second part shows women how to prepare for attacks by the enemy. The third part is directed to those who have been snared by seduction, and compassionately points the way back to God. Study guide is $20. Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45 pm, starts April 19 // 6 weeks // Facilitated by Kenna Johnson & Irene Strole Who are you when life is steady? Who are you when storms come? In this powerful series, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow passionately shares glimpses of his journey staying grounded in the face of disappointment, criticism, and intense media scrutiny. This moving series features practical wisdom from Scripture and insights gained from others who have impacted Tebow in life-changing ways. Though traveling hard roads is not easy, it's always worth it! Wednesdays, 6:15 pm, starts April 19 // 4 weeks // Facilitated by John Graves Our faith in God often hinges on his activity or inactivity in our daily experiences. When our prayers are answered, our faith soars. When God is silent, it becomes harder to trust him. When God shows up in an unmistakable way, our confidence in Him reaches new heights. But when he doesn't come through, our confidence often wanes. But it doesn't have to be that way it's not supposed to be that way. Andy Stanley explains what we can expect of God every time we come to him with a request. In addition, he exposes the flaws in what some have labeled The Faith Movement. Faith, Hope, and Luck is not just another group study. This content is foundational for everyone who desires to be an informed, active follower of Christ. Tuesdays, 10 am, starts April 25 // 5 weeks // Facilitated by Amy Graves & Richelle Leibold

With advance notice, we may be able to provide for your food allergies so that you can dine with your friends here. Over spring break I had a chance to go hiking with my son and a friend. As we crossed over a creek we began to talk about quicksand. Growing up, there was a creek by my house, everyone said there was quicksand at the bottom. I m not sure if it was true or was a parent s rouse to keep us out of the creek. The fear of sinking in deep and not being about to get out kept me far from the creek bed. I learned from my friend though that you can t actually drown in quicksand and if you relax, you ll never go farther than your waist. At that point I began to think of life and God. There are things that come into our lives that make us feel like we are sinking. The more we struggle, the deeper we sink. If we would just relax and trust in God, we would be just fine. God will lift us out of the struggle in time. As we are waist deep, we need to keep our focus on Him. It is difficult to not struggle but God s power is greater than ours to lift us out of the muck! Resting waist deep, Richelle Leibold Director of Outreach and Welcome Ministries Please bring Easter Eggs filled with candy or treats to the Welcome Center of the Sanctuary or Christian Life Center and place in brown hampers for use at our Easter Egg Hunt. If you would rather be given eggs and fill them with candy, we can provide the eggs. We need at least 2000 eggs to host an awesome Easter Egg Hunt for all! Blessings of people have come forward but we d like to have some more on call to hang out while our homeless take showers on Mondays and Wednesdays. Many of our homeless like to play games, (cards, Yahtzee, etc) and they rarely get to watch movies or television. If you would like to join us for an afternoon of hanging with our homeless Mondays 12:30 2, or Wednesdays 3:30 5:30 pm, we d love to share in the blessings. Contact Richelle at In the summer, we will need people available in the evenings, so if that works better for your schedule, please let us know now so we can schedule them.

5 What are you listening to? One of the first major growths in my spiritual faith journey was when I changed the music I was listening to. It hit me one day after leaving church, getting to my car, only to listen to music that spoke about things I didn't believe in or participate in. We can't expect to change and get closer to God if we won't take steps to make changes. For me it doesn't work to worship then listen to music glorifying drugs, unmarried sex, violence and objectifying our moms, sisters, aunts, etc. Plus many artists make it seem like you should be worshipping money, fame, and material possessions. "Oh, but I just like the beat"...yeah, I told myself that lie before too. To get down to the nitty gritty, I encourage you to begin listening to music with more meaning, positivity and purpose. What you put in yourself is what you will get out. Today there is every genre of music in Christian form and they are good. I like every genre and can give you some recommendations if you are interested. Fast, fresh lunch served with smiles with time to laugh and relax with friends before heading back to class. Free transportation is available. Meet a van in the Moore High School north auditorium parking lot. Suggested donation $2. All high school students, and teachers are welcome to join us. 7 For a group that likes to travel, Kathy Cardott offered many good travel tips when Seniors of the Go met in Fellowship Hall for their monthly fellowship luncheon on March 10, Hostesses were Sylvia Zimmerman, Ray and Donna Eustice, Joe and Rella Helms and Dale Bergman. Fifty-one members attended. Kathy who owns a travel agency in Norman, passed out sheets on what to take when traveling as well as a packing list. She alerted the group to extra travel fees from various airlines. If traveling to a tropical climate, include a dryer sheet to keep clothing smelling fresh. Program important telephone numbers into your telephone before leaving. Carry medicines in your carry -ons in case other luggage is lost. Carry an empty duffel bag in your luggage for mementoes you may purchase. Wear shoes that easily slip off as you go through airline security. These were just a few of the items Ms. Cardott spoke on. Landon Heath has free tickets to the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors concert to be held at Oklahoma City Community College on Saturday, April 1 at 7:30 pm. Additional tickets are available on request to Landon or by calling There is still seating available for the Branson trip October Landon also reported a trip has been set for Thursday, April 20 at 10:30 am to the 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. This was formerly the Ford Manufacturing Co. It features a free eclectic display of arts and sculptures on the first and second floors. This hotel-museum also offers a restaurant for which each senior is responsible. Sandwiches range in price from $13-$17. The group will have lunch there at 11 am. Lila Mulkey, hospitality chair, sent get well cards to Dean Porter, recovering from a fall, Sharla Payne, recovering from Pneumonia, Charlene Wilson who had a heart procedure; Sympathy cards to Don and Jeanette Ledbetter and Margaret McClain; Thinking of you cards to Susanne Hudson who is caring for an ill brother, Ann Pace who has been feeling unwell and no longer driving, and Margaret McClain. President Joyce Statton reminded the group of the next meeting on April 13. Dear Church Family, Thank you so very much for the many acts of love you have shown Bob and me during the last three years we have been home bound. We have appreciated all the cards of encouragement, the delicious food, the visits, and prayers on our behalf. I am so thankful for the love and care you have bestowed upon us. A special thank you to my UMW sisters for preparing and serving a delicious meal before Bob s service. We are also grateful for the church staff, Pastor Danny for assisting with the service, Phyllis Nichols lovely organ music, and Landon Heath for operating the sound system. Love to all, Margaret McClain Our paint and prayer classes are open to any one over 18. Some weeks will be guided by an instructor, other weeks, we ll have suggested paintings and assist one another. The cost per canvas, paint and brush use is $5 per week.

10 Know someone who would like to get their GED? We now are able to assist them. We have combined forces with Norman Adult Ed and offer classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00-8:30 pm. No begin date, no end date, just come and learn as you are able. Schedule follows Norman schools. Each Monday we serve lunch to our friends at the Work Activity Center, the homeless AND High School students. Some of these high school students would never walk inside a church except for the fact that we offer them lunch and welcome them with the love and grace of Jesus. Word is out about our delicious lunches and we have seen a tremendous increase in the number attending. We are serving at least 35 students! What better way to send them off for the rest of their day and week ahead is with a sweet! Would you be willing to bake desserts? Brownies, cookies, cakes, pies for our friends? Drop them by the CLC kitchen on Sunday or Monday. Thank you! Do you like to read the side of the cereal box while you eat? Here s a way to help a kid do both! You can: #1 Bring kids friendly cereals for our Project Transformation kids to start their day off right. Kid friendly cereal can be dropped off in the Welcome centers in the brown hampers. #2 Volunteer to read one on one with our Project Transformation campers. Our Project Transformation Outreach brings kids from our community in to help them get on track with their reading skills. We provide one on one reading volunteers each morning from to help the kids build relationships and improve their reading level. If you are available the week of June 5th, week of July 24th, July 5th and 6th, we need at least 10 people those days. If you are available throughout the summer as an on call substitute, please contact Richelle or Amy at

Emurian c1964 All Rights Reserved. Used by permission. Rev. Ernest K. Emurian was a Methodist Pastor as well as a popular speaker and writer of books, hymns and plays. He retired in 1981 as Pastor of the Cherrydale UMC in Arlington, Virginia. One of his works, The Last Supper drama was premiered in 1954 and has been presented to thousands of people throughout the years. It is still very popular today. As the disciples are sharing around the table, Jesus says them, One of you will betray me. As they respond to his words, we have the opportunity to hear the inward thoughts of each disciple as they respond to what Jesus said. Each one asks, Is it I, Lord? Is it I? Come and bring a friend to this dramatic portrayal of the Lord s Supper. Congregational singing, the Chancel Choir and other musicians will be a part of this evening of worship. 14 We kicked off March with Lent and closed out our collection of tissues, hand sanitizer, post it notes, & index cards for Central Jr High for the remainder of the school term at Spring Break. Then we held a Spring Time Casserole Sale as soon as Spring Break ended with four of our Fall Favorites offered with delivery on Palm Sunday. We thank you for your support for these missions. Our April General Meeting is on April 6, at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. The program that evening is one never done before at the church. We have been collecting Prom dresses and accessories for the Cookson Hills School. Once again, our church members have come through in flying colors with over two dozen dresses donated. Several of our Agape youth are planning to model the donations and all these lovely gifts will receive a dedication blessing before being taken to Cookson Hills. Again, the Charla Circle and UMW are so blessed to receive so much outpouring of love and support for our efforts to spread His Love to those who might otherwise be left out or forgotten. Everyone is welcome to come that evening and enjoy the program and free meal. But.we aren t done! UMW is most interested in working with the church as a whole in Discipleship. There s something buzzing in the air for our 4 th, 5 th, & 6 th grade girls. Initial plans are in place for this endeavor and a big announcement is forthcoming but, in the meantime, we can tell you this: 1. It is UMW sponsored. This means you don t have to belong to a Circle or UMW to be involved or even go to this church. You just need to be a woman to be involved with the girls. 2. It won t cost any money. 3. It will start this summer. AND, that s not all.agape Youth, YOU ARE NEXT! Keep your eyes open for more announcements. Don t you just LOVE surprises!
