Our Pathway can be best described as a healthy, loving environment where people connect, grow, and serve together as we present Christ as Savior and pursue Him as Lord. To this end, we talk a lot about The Pathway. In fact, if you look closely, you will see a Pathway right in the middle of our logo. We have created an easy-to-follow series of steps that will lead you down this Pathway to meaningful connections, steady, solid growth, and world/community-changing service. So how do you get started on the Pathway? 1. Discovery Class- designed to help you discover what you need to know about HGC and also help HGC get to know you. Together we discern ways you can continue along the pathway to Christlikeness. 2. Starting Point- designed to help you understand the basics of the Christian faith and build a strong spiritual foundation. If you re unfamiliar with the teachings of the Bible, this class will be very helpful to you. 3. Next Steps- consist of: Small Group participation, Adult Education classes, Membership at HGC, Baptism, and Discovering your Spiritual Gifts. Be sure to check out the Pathway Pursuit each week for further thoughts and ideas about our Pathway to Christlikeness. 6 Projects at HGC The faithful regular financial support of you, God s people, is needed to support the ongoing work here at HGC via the General Fund and Missionary Fund. Many of you participate in this very important part of our responsibility as committed followers of Christ and... IT IS APPRECIATED! In addition to your regular support, some of you have indicated a desire to give for special projects and have asked if there are any projects that need to be undertaken at the church. Here are a few things that need to be done when funds are available: Sound System Due to recent changes in FCC regulations, all of our wireless microphones and related equipment need to be replaced. We also need to improve the effectiveness of the monitors on the platform. The estimated cost to do this work is $30,000 and the time frame to replace this equipment is now. Church Office The offices were beautifully decorated and carpeted when they opened in However, after almost 25 years of use, a facelift is sorely needed. We would like to paint, wallpaper, and replace the carpet in the public areas and offices. The estimated cost is $50,000. Office Furniture Also after almost 25 years of daily use, many of the office partitions are broken and the desks, which were not designed for today s computer systems, need to be replaced. The estimated cost is $20,000. Computer System Many of our computer systems are more than seven years old and even some of the newer computers cannot run the current versions of the software we use each day. Incompatible systems are becoming more and more of a hindrance and additional hard disk space is needed. Due to the nature of this project, work could begin as soon as funds are available and can be completed as additional funds are received. The estimated cost for the entire project is $20,000. To give toward these projects, place your gifts in the offering and mark the envelope with the name of the project, e.g., Sound System, Church Office, Office Furniture, or Computer System. The Legacy Builders invites all men to attend our Annual Men s Retreat at America s Keswick in Whiting, NJ Friday, October 22 nd, to Sunday, October 24 th, 2010 Featuring Chaplain John Hibbard speaking on The Measure of a Man Cost Option #1 Victory Hall: $135/$150* Option #2 Raws Memorial: $180/$195* *See brochure for price and room details For further details on the Retreat, and to register, pick up a Retreat Brochure available in the wall racks in the church foyer. Please feel free to ask for assistance at our Discovery Center! We re here to help you! Questions, please call the church office at
