Please plan to help with this worthwhile outreach program. INTER-GENERATIONAL FAMILY FELLOWSHIP will meet Sat., Sept 6, 5:30pm at the home of David and Marlene Dexter for a pot luck meal followed by discussion on Intentional Interim Ministry with David, a member of the Transition Ministry Team. Emma Hazelton will supervise the younger folk who are asked to bring their own entertainment. Please RSVP to Sandy Yip ( /amyip@eastlink.ca) with the food item you plan to bring. ARK SUNDAY SUPPERS, a weekly meal for about 200 homeless men, women, youth, and children, are up and running again! FBC will deliver 18 hot casseroles to St. Andrew's on Sept. 14 by 4PM. Please add your name to the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the Parlour Lobby for preparing & delivering a meal, or to help with serving. We extend our warmest thanks to the congregation of First Baptist Church Halifax and Rev. Boyd for their hospitality over the last 10 weeks. It has been a most positive experience. 6 OUTREACH INITIATIVES: St John's congregation has an active outreach program which will resume in September. In 2012 St. John's took over the operation of Manna for Health from Safe Harbour Metropolitan Church. Manna for Health is a special needs food bank for those living with HIV/AIDS and other life threatening illnesses. We also collect donations for Parker Street Food Bank. Currently the donations suggested for Manna and Parker Street are: canned meats, crackers, cookies, soups and stews. On Sundays September 7 & 14 there will be a school supply/backpacks collection for Parker Street. St. John's will be contributing casseroles to the St. Andrew's Sunday Suppers on Nov. 9. Those individuals wishing to participate by making a casseroles can contact Marion Jay at or marionjay2@aol.com The Scotiabank AIDs Walk For Life will be held on Sunday Sept. 28. Pledge sheets will be available on September 7 for anyone interested in taking part. *** Coming Events CABF Annual Conference and AGM The Canadian Association for Baptist Freedoms, a member body of the Canadian Council of Churches, is our link to fellow Baptists as well as the wider Church. The annual CABF Conference will be held in Chester on October 4 and is open to all. Guest Speaker: Rev. Dr. Scott Kindred-Barnes, Minister of FBC Ottawa. Theme: Realizing Heaven on Earth: Four Words in the Service of God. There will also be a Fellowship Supper and Bonfire on October 3, beginning at 6pm at the Atlantica Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre. To register, contact Kim Sweet at or by (kjsweet@live.ca).
